Losing My Frontal Hair Line, So Afraid :(

Only 2 weeks on half a 1mg tab of Finasteride and my frontal hairline feels like its sped up and i am so scared

the right frontal side is moving inwards towards my left side and the left is receding a little back further around my ear, and these areas continue to itch while they didn't itch before.

I dunno how my hairline will look in a months time but i feel like throwing up from the thought of it considering that a month ago i had a fairly decent hairline and now my hair is taking a huge beating.

Its also been more worrying that its only been 2 weeks and every time i scratch the areas i am aware are receding i just wanna cry because i am trying to keep going but DHT is clearly having so much fun with my scalp that its driving an itch i never had before :(, which seems really odd for a med thats meant to help with that

Can anyone give me anything positive to keep going? anything but asking would i rather keep my hair or not because i am currently not keeping it at a possibly more rapid pace then usual and i don't even think this is a shed either :(

hair that fall has been dead 3 months ago. that's why we should stick with any treatments for at least 3 months.
true but is it normal to itch more during a shed?

What if its not shedding but receding? is that the same thing? and totally normal?

I notice some hair fall but not alot, its mostly just receding.

I hope some have come back from it.

just stick with the treatment if you're not getting sides, and come back after 3 months. this is the best thing you can do.

My most concerning side effect is the itch and hair thinning in just 2 weeks

My libido confusingly has been abit on and off so i don't know whats going on there, first week it was fairly low and this week its been fairly high and starts around 6pm.

this is weird, go see your dermatologist. it might be a good idea.

Frontal currently looks horrible, definitely seems to be getting a little worse daily.

libido seems to spike directly at 6pm within the last 3 days, although today i noticed my baby gravy quantity was very low.

Report back in 3 months dude. I know hair loss sucks, but you'll only drive yourself mad if you keep checking in the mirror constantly. Just breathe, get you a few hats, and ride it out for a while.

I really am trying to ride this out but i can't believe how fast i am presumably receding hair.

Starting from today i think i need to comb over my hair just to hide thinning spots.

just 2 weeks in...

I combed some coverage hair out of the way so you can get a better look but alot of it :(

I don't have any before images, i am too uncomfortable with the whole thing.

I am 32.

I really hope its like a shed period.

just picture this... but more coverage around the front and corners 2 weeks ago.

I feel like my frontal hair is also shedding on finasteride...but I doubt anything could happen in two weeks man. You're probably just looking at it more closely now.

Your hair cycle needs to reset once you start taking the drug, and this takes longer than two weeks.

you really dont have 1 picture of your hair from like 3 weeks ago?... anyways man, 2 weeks is wayyyyyy to early to know if finasteride is even doing anything yet, whatever you lost is most likely not due to finasteride (if you even lost anything) but u gotta give it 6-12 months to know for sure.

A scalp itch started once i started when i started taking finasteride and it was in the thinning areas which looked like they sped up abit so something must have been going on there :(

Look at it this way man, even if you lose all that front part you have good hair behind and you're the perfect age for a hair transplant. Stick with finasteride, even if you continue to recede I believe you will still see benefits as it will at least slow the process. I assume your donor area is good? You could see insane results with a hair transplant, but give finasteride at least 8 months. Many, many people have reported a shed and had good results from sticking with it. Though I would recommend seeing a trichologist, possibly an experienced hair transplant surgeon to discuss your situation and take measurements. Also try to not stress about it too much (I know it's tough), that won't help the situation.

have you considered adding minoxidil?

i ordered some low alcohol minxodil and waiting for it to arrive but i haven't decided whether i will use it or not.

I tried the foam and it irritated my scalp unfortunately.

I did use the liquid form for a few months last year and i did get a couple of unsual side effects that i can't say for 100% sure if it was the minoxidil or not but they were not fun side effects to live with.
