Love this site and would like somewhat advice

Hey everyone Im 20 years old and have been thinning quite a bit for the last 2 years. mostly in the front and at the temples. U can see some of my scalp from the front area but the back and crown is fine . I just started using Equate brand Minoxidil 5 % and i shampoo with nizoral 1% and im about a week in. I basically just wondered if this is a wise choice to start with. I know i have no pictures right now so u cant see how bad it is but I will post some in a bit.. Im getting thin enough to where it bothers me. Anyways thanks for any advice this site is great!

Add a dht inhibitor like finasteride(propecia, proscar or a generic). minoxidil and Nizoral won't stop the balding process. minoxidil will regrow hair but you need something that will stop you from balding. finasteride is the easiest thing to add. Then you'll have your big 3 regimen(finasteride, nizoral, and minoxidil) completed.

you may want to add DHT inhibitor to maintain the existing hair. Min does nothing against DHT

Im pretty new to this as well, but I started on proscar in June. It seems to be very safe, and I havent had any of the side effects at all. It also seems to work pretty well so far. Im not losing anything anymore. And one or two people have told me it looks a little thicker. Although I admit it may be to early to tell. So I would go for it, It seems to be the most important part of a regimen

get proscar (real stuff or generic) and split it in 4ths every day ASAP. once that stops working, go on dutasteride.
