Ok. I need some opinions other than my wife's. She thinks I'm not losing my hair but Im not as confident.

Here are some pictures. The last one is the sink from me gently combing my hair with my hand and this is is the results. :wow:. The kicker is that I have been on finasteride for 9 months at this point. Is this normal to still lose this many hairs on finasteride?

I figured. But should I still be seeing this many hairs in the sink being on finasteride? Is it a shead? It's it me not responding?

I am starting to get grey hairs too. Does anyone know if grey hairs grow from new or if the hair just transforms into being grey?

I wouldn't worry to much on the shed. Focus on the thinning, and monitor the diffused areas closely.

Drugs for maitenance.

Hair transplant for solution. Save up and put funds aside for the future. Can easily beef up the hairline and restore temples with under 2000 grafts. Could prolly get fue done for under 7000 in turkey

Yeah it's better to listen to us regarding hair loss than it is to listen to other people who aren't balding or don't have knowledge on the subject.

You're balding indeed but that having said, you're hair looks pretty good. You could be going through a shed, I'd just ride it out to the 12 month mark at the least if I were you.

How old are you? Honestly, with your current hair line I wouldn't bother getting a hair transplant but if you're very young I could understand that you want to get on par with others of your age hair line wise. However, you said you have a wife so I'm going to assume you're at least in your late twenties. Keep an eye on it but if you maintain, I'd call your battle a succes and leave it like this. It's all up to you though.

Density of your crown is great btw

That's what every women says. They don't have knowledge on male pattern baldness because they don't experience it, To them they would see you as not bald but to us on the forums you have hair loss and can clearly see it, Where as women cannot.

In my experience when asked friends/family will either lie to be kind, or they just don't notice the hair loss until it is really obvious.

Definitely looks like you have a bit of thinning and receding going on. Plus that looks like a lot of hair to lose from a light combing.

Most people would not notice , but if it concerns you, go get it checked . Most people here are very negative people and will tell you that you are balding that its hopeless no matter what. Don't listen to them and just be proactive.

Thanks for the feed back. I just (still am) got overly worried due to that mess in the sink. Since I have been on finasteride, I don't think I have lost any coverage. Maybe even gained a few too in the forehead area.

Can someone answer this: if one is taking finasteride, what is the new "expected" hair to be lost a day? Or does it still vary based on individual?

I've been on finasteride over a year and still shed a fuk ton of hair at literally ANY point in the day. Sh!t, I see multiple hairs wrapped around my finger after rubbing in rogaine every morning and night.

My point is, the shedding won't stop. Like the other guy said, focus not on the shed, but how your hair actually looks.

I agree everyone sheds hair that is normal. You might shed a lot or a little but without male pattern baldness it just all grows back to the original thickness and color. What your hair looks like is more important than what you shed

The dermatologist I saw said it was early stage male pattern baldness. But I agree that lots of older guys have this exact hairline. I'm not apposed to this if I can keep what I have. I actually don't have an issue with baldness except on me (ironic) due to my body frame. I'm 6" and 145ish - yes, I'm skinny - avid biker with corresponding biker frame - but still skinny. Bald + skinny is no good IMO. That's the reason for the finasteride. Figured that if I had sides I just stop and face the music. But so far so good.

I appreciate the conversation. It's nice to talk to other like minded hair retention afficianatos.

Hey Everyone. I am not losing massive amounts of hair like I was (sink picture) and I think I have things under control at this point so I figured I would give an update on things.

I stopped using the RegenePure DR and NT and started to use Nizoral every 3 days. Additionally, after using the Nizoral I am conditioning with Nioxin 1. The off days I am using Nioxin 1 shampoo and Nioxin 1 treatment. This simple change has reduced the amount of hairs shed substantially.

I have been on the finasteride for about 9 months and I read that it takes about 9 months for all the hairs on your head to cycle out. So, I wonder if my switch to a new routine is a coincidence or if it actually helped matters. Maybe using a conditioner help out the cause too. Whatever the case, I wanted to let you know of a regimen that works for someone. Here are the full details of my working regimen:

finasteride 1mg-ish split from 5mg everyday (9mos - no sides)
500mg Biotin everyday
GNC MegaMan Multi vitamin
Nizoral shampoo every third day (wash once, then wash again and leave in for 5-ish minutes)
Nioxin 1 Conditioner every third day after Nizoral shampoo
Off days: Nioxin 1 Shampoo and Nioxin 1 Treatment

Good luck out there fellas!
