Hi all,

I have been using finas and minoxidil in my hairline and temples for a while. Last months I have been growing my hair long, but the first hairs in my hairline do not really grow as much as the rest. They do not look thinner, they look, I would say as strong, as the others, but they are shorter. It is happening where I use minoxidil. So, of course I know I have issues, this is why I went to the dermatologist and started taking finas and minoxidil, but I am not sure if they will grow longer, if they are in a different phase because minoxidil, if I would eventually loss those... What is your opinion?

Thanks,

Well it looks like new hair growth to me. It is normal to see shorter hairs at the hairline, as it just means that you have new growth. The length of the hairs obviously varies on our entire scalp. What I am saying is that if you could look at the length of your hairs at a different area of the scalp, you would also see many shorter hairs. It is just noticeable at the hairline because it is exposed. Also why are you on minoxidil and finasteride, you seem to have almost no hair loss. Maybe slight temple recession at the sides but nothing to worry about imo.

Most women hairline look like this too. It’s new hairs that started growing later, after you started growing your hair out.
