minoxidil 1X day?

I was on minoxidil for about 8 months with pretty good results. But then the side effects of skipped heart beat made me stop. Now my hair is falling out to the point where people who haven't seen me in 2 or 3 months are looking hard.

Now I started Propecia. Do you think using minoxidil 1X a day to try and control the side effects will do anything at all as far as bringing back my old hairs from minoxidil, or I need 2X a day?

You usually need to apply it 2x a day for any regrowth, 1x a day may be good enough for maintenance.

i use it once a day after applying it twice for two years. they say the full results end after a year on minoxidil. so might as well apply it just once after that year..and it's what i do. and my hair has remained the same somewhat since doing so

If you can't use it twice a day for health reasons then just put it on at night so it has time to be absorbed completely into your scalp. It may not be as beneficial as twice daily usage but its better than none at all.

Both Doctors I talked to who specialize in minoxidil formula's say it takes 12-24 months to recruit all follicles, so you may try a bit longer than 1 year, two years for sure.

If you have the heart problems why not try a 2% does with Retin A, it is less than the 5% and is said to work as well. Just an option for you.

I take it once a day at night, it seems to work for me. And since your taking propecia along with it, you will probably see some regrowth even with taking it once a day.

Heartburn

I've noticed heartburn as well....is this from minoxidil or Propecia?

I assumed it was Propecia, but according to this post maybe the minoxidil?

Showmehair: I didn't mean heartburn. I was experiencing a rapid heart beat and skipped beats. I wouldn't stop it just from hearburn. But a skipped beat is scary
