OK, here is the truth to what you're asking.

0.1% (That's .001), is equivalent to one milligram of Finasteride. Yes, it is one tenth of
one percent, not 1% volume.

This study claims that side effects with topical are less. But the interesting thing to note, is
that both topical Finasteride and solid Finasteride have equal benefits, I think topical did
a little better, but not by much.

15 mg finasteride in 60ml minoxidil... that is a 0.025% Finasteride solution.... equals 0.25mg finasteride per day (1ml per day).

I would either double the finasteride dosage: 30 mg Finasteride in 60ml minoxidil.... that would be a 0.05% solution... equals 0.5mg finasteride per day (1ml per day)

OR leave everything as it is BUT apply 2ml daily! (would also equal 0.5mg finasteride per day)
I also have 5mg of dutasteride in it, so 15 mg finasteride + 5 mg dutasteride in 60 ml minoxidil

First thank you guys for all the answers :). I crash today 15 propecia pills in kirkland 5% minoxidil bottle but after the minoxidil is dry i still can see a lot of finasteride powder on my scalp. I start to think that finasteride cant really be absorbed through the skin. :(

The pills contain fillers as well as the active ingredient. The residue on your scalp is likely the fillers which didn't dissolve.

Why on earth are Hasson & Wong using a 2.5% formulation, then?

I see three possible answers:

1) Their liposomal formula actually works and keeps things from going (too) systemic so a higher concentration is safe
2) It's difficult for finasteride penetrate the scalp so a higher concentration is necessary
3) They have only tested on eunuchs

Maybe :

60 ml : 100 x 2.5 = 1.5 mg finasteride needed lol.. totally wrong calculation, but a possible answer
