Hey all,

Im new to this forum, and just recently began noticing hair loss. I bought a CVS brand of 2% Minoxidil, and my question is, have you guys agreed on a best way to apply it? So far I've been using a dropper and spreading it evenly around my head. My hairloss is only above my temples so far, should I drop most of it there, or does it matter?
thanks in advance for your answers,
Metzler

make parts in your hair and apply the minoxidil directly to the scalp, otherwise it will get wasted in the hair. the parts of the scalp you apply the minoxidil to may become "minoxidil dependent"; meaning, if you start applying the minoxidil in that place, you'll have to apply it there every day or you'll lose any gains you may make. after i apply, i gently rub it into my scalp. hope this helps!

I just bought the Walgreen's version of minoxidil 5% and after using the pump spray a total of 2 pumps, I immediately switched to the dropper. I don't do the "part the hair" thing as my hair is already pretty short. Since last night and this morning are the first times I've ever applied minoxidil to my scalp, I can't say what's best, but I think I'll stick w/ the dropper..

When I tried spraying it, after the minoxidil dried it left a white residue on my hair. Kind of made me look like a greyed old man!

i don't think the spray is meant for those who are thinning..it's mostly for thiose who have like bald spots, etc..the dropper is for those who are thinning so it doesn't get on the hair

A trick I use is to meaure the 1ml into an old medicine cup and then use a cotton bud to apply directly to the scalp. I part the hair progressively from one side to the other until I've finish the 1ml.
Hope that helps anyone.
