I have been on 5mg of oral minoxidil for 5 months and upped the dose last month and recently noticed saggy skin and wrinkles under my eyes. Would this side effect go away just from lowering the dose again back to 5mg? I’m a little worried but never had these problems on 5mg

Just switch back to 5mg if you are experiencing bad skin sides from a higher dosage than that, your skin should sort itself out. May i suggest emu oil and retin-a? along with wearing sunscreen daily of course. That might help mitigate skin sides, there are a few supplements for skin you could take too.

Thank you!! I went back to 5mg 2 days ago and just started retinol 1% from the ordinary and use daily sunscreen. I’ve read that you’re not supposed to use retinol under your eyes tho... is that true? also if I ever were to up the dosage again could I counteract the wrinkles with anything else?

Can Anyone else please help me out with this? I’m really scared
The issue partially is that we are not sure whether minoxidil even causes that effect. Second, eye surgery or around the eyes surgery can handle those circles fine but if you go bald, nobody will notice the circles under your eyes, trust me.

Derma-rolling should help with the skin and you might also want to use retin-a or Adaptagel for youth enhancement.

Actually nobody should be stopped by changes in facial texture using drugs because we have all sort of treatment to fix our skin. The basic is Retin A 0.1% (which is stronger than retiNOL, the one that you have and has a mild effect), microneedling, TCA peels, and even lasers...
the question is can laser and peel restore skin texture and wrinkles if you're using minoxidil while doing thoses procedures ( as this procedure " damage" the skin so it can repairs afterwards wih more collagen but if you put minoxidil while doing so won't it prevent the collagen repair induced by the laser or peel?

sry for the stupid question

dark circles under the eye is caused by vasodilation of the blood vessels which is what OM does. i get the same thing when i use cialis. it opens up the blood vessels so you see more red under the skin. as we age we have less fat under the eye and skin is thinner. use retin a, get HA injections if you want to help cover it up. baggy skin for me occurs when when i'm not as lean.... i'm in the fitness world and as i start to eat more to try and gain muscle i retain excess fat and water around the face and the face looks heavier...stay lean, manage salt intake, do cardio, use retin-a.

so I have been doing skin care using retinol and another specific eye cream with retinol for 1.5 months and have barely see any improvement…I’m only 22 and starting to worry. I don’t wanna replace one insecurity with another. Where do I go from here. Do I wait and give it more time or what treatment options do I have? Please help me out

I’ve heard many times that you’re not supposed to put such a strong retinoid under your eye area. that’s why I’m using a specific eye cream with just retinol so it doesn’t irritate. has helped only so much so far

I have also heard that we should not drink more than 2 glasses of wine a week and that more than a tablespoon of sugar will make me spontaneously combust. Serious note loads of people put a light amount on under the eyes depending on sensitivity alternating days in sensitive regions yields great results.

so you’re saying that would work much better than a retinol eye cream?
