Minoxidil dandruff ?

I dont think i have ever had dandruff in the past. However, i am noticing several white flakes now. Can this actually happen from minoxidil? If so what causes it, the drug itself?

Yes, it is the minoxidil. This is very common.

Yeah I get this also. i can usually just comb out the flakes and they wont come back until much later in the day/next day if I dont shower before then.

I think perhaps it may not be real dandruff, but instead it is dried chunks of the MIN(and non min parts of the solution).

It's not dandruff, it's just the residue from the minoxidil.

I used to get it when using liquid 2x daily.

Now I use foam in the morning, liquid at night.

Shower and wash out the liquid from the night before every morning before applying the foam.

No more flakes

i agree with hairhoper, i used to get it and it was severe when using only the liquid once i switched to foam/day liquid/night it has been reduced. even the itch that i used to get has been almost gone
