Minoxidil/finasteride stopped being effective. Any advice?

Hi all,

I have been using finasteride and minoxidil since age 29 (I'm now 34) and it thickened out my hair, even moved my hairline forward a little, to my amazement ( although a pronounced receding hairline was still noticable to those who know what it looks like). But about 10-12 months ago, after a couple of spells of missing both treatments occasionally due to illness (really only a morning of minoxidil here and a missed finasteride there, perhaps one or two full days missed another time) it started to recede and thin out again. I have never been able to regain the level of thickness I had up until last year, and I worry minoxidil only makes it worse, as I used to get shedding from it even when my hair was thick.

Should I stop the minoxidil and try something else? It's a real shame as I thought my hair loss was virtually sorted for now.

I'd appreciate any guidance.

Add tretinoin.

i use with oral minoxidil topical minoxidil tretionoin 0.1 % microneedling, minoxil still does nothing
That don’t mean it don’t work , it will work for almost anyone . And is backup with studies . In the other hand, we don’t even know if you have Androgenetic Alopecia or what do you mean but “ does nothing “ .

tretinoin enhancing min is just theory , never seen someone become responder in real life from tretinoin except 1 study which just showed it raised enzyme , not become minoxidil responder, show me long term study vs control group...

Hahahahahaha. Theory ?! hahahahaha , hold my beer :
Tretinoin enhances minoxidil response in androgenetic alopecia patients by upregulating follicular sulfotransferase enzymes
Doble blind, place, IN VIVO, HUMAN study. Converting none responder into responder .
Smart people use internet to be smarter , stupid people use it just to spread their ignorance
