Yes it should.. but then again, perhaps ur hairloss has a different cause than most other people.

Eating well? Enough vitamins/minerals? Too much sunlight? Exposed to irratants? stuff like that..

If you REALLY want to know if minoxidil truely is worthless, keep off it for a month. If you get the most unholy shed ever, then you know it was doing something.

minoxidil doesn't work for everyone according to clinical trials. You could be the unlucky part of the population.

Whether minoxidil works for you is what folks called a responder . You are not. Hence, an alternative is topicals.

My take is to stay off minoxidil if it does not work for you. If you wish to try topical, first stay off minoxidil for 3 months . Then use the naturalis topical .

I GUESS YOU REALLY CANNOT COMPREHEND ENGLISH!! GET THE f*** OF THIS FORUM WITH YOUR NATURALIS CRAP!!!

minoxidil regrows more hair overall than propecia, but it works in a smaller group of men than propecia. Propecia at least maintains in 83% of men, and that is just in the back or on top, I forget which. Minoxidil 5% regrows hair in 66% of men, I think, but it regrows a lot more.

i dont really mean to argue with college, since his is much more knowledgable than I am, but I think that i similar double blind study was conducted which showed that finasteride did infact maintain in the front also. I think the pdf is available somewhere on this site.

Ive been taking 5% twice a day...and my shed has been going on ever since.

When should a guy use minoxidil....when hairloss is very noticeable/balding and visible to others....or when your thinning, but you do have hair on your head and not many people can notice your hairloss? (thats me when i grow my hair, no one can notice my hairloss)

For some people minoxidil can be counterproductive due to the scalp irritation it causes. Without a healthy scalp you'll never stop your hairloss.

If you're still shedding after 8 months I'd say stop and try something else.

Yeah try dutasteride (it worked great for me) and maybe topical spironolactone aswell.

Since you can't tolerate minoxidil you could also try NANO shampoo which has minoxidil like substances in it which may give a little regrowth.

re:

I stopped minoxidil because I believe it caused me to retain lots of fluid and caused irritation. What annoys me most about minoxidil is that there never appears to be clear medical evidence as to why it works. If we don't know why it works how to we evaluate potential sides and long term effects? Not too mention the applications were bothering both my scalp quality and appearance.
Anyways, I am evaluating my body after stoping the minoxidil and will be trying spironolactone cream soon.

I thought regrowth was more like 30%. I think maintenance is somewhere around 70%.
