minoxidil or finasteride for early receeding/thinning at front?

Hi, I posted this on the general discussions page earlier today but on second thoughts it is probably better here. Apologies to anyone who has already read it. My post is:

I'm 29, my hair has been thinning and receeding at the front for 10 years now but very slowly, it is still hardly noticable. Have now decided to take action. Been on minoxidil 5% for 4 weeks without problems but I'm wondering if I should use Propecia instead. Here's why: (1) I can't be bothered doing both, at least not at first, because of the cost and hassle. (2) If I use propecia for 5 years then stop, at least I have put hairloss back by 5 years, if I used minoxidil and then stop I would suddenly lose a lot of hair and it would be as though I have never taken it (3) I think propecia may be a bit more effective.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

PS. Two queries re propecia - (1) Is anyone out there bothered by the possibly increased chances of aggressive prostrate cancer caused by it? (2) Can I still receive blow jobs from women (assuming they aren't pregnant) without wearing a condom?

PPS Great website - thanks a lot.

finasteride does not work like that, your hair is not going to stay for too long after taking it for 5 years and then just stop taking it. It would be just like if you took minx for 5 years and stop taking it. If you say your hair is still in pretty good shape get off the minx and go with the finasteride! :) less is sometimes better you can always add more later.
