Minoxidil or Revivogen: forehead feels burned/irritated

I have been using Rogaine foam for about 4 months on the vertex middle and the front as well, I did not have any of these symptoms at the time. About a week and a half ago I started using Kirkland 5% at night and applied in the same fashion as the foam. This last week end I added Revivogen as well in the afternoon after I shower from work. Now the last three days I noticed my forehead is burning, irritated and dry, however the rest of my scalp feels normal. When I apply them I make sure to keep it in the hairline area, could the minoxidil or revivogen be creeping down my forehead even though I do not feel or see it? And could one of them be more to blame? The Kirkland 5% takes forever to dry, while the Revivogen is almost like the Rogaine foam, but leave more of a visual presents.

I am going to cycle the two to find out which one might be the blame, but has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

I have not experienced any pain or burning and I use both. Maybe you are reacting to something in one of them?

Possibly, however the scalp is unaffected, its all on my forehead... So maybe its creeping down. I would have to say after looking at the ingredients its either the PG in the Kirkland or the SD alcohol 40 in the revivogen.

A lot of people are sensitive to ppg in minoxidil. Try just using the foam and Revivogen and see if the burning continues. If it stops, then you know it's the Kirklands. There are other brands to try which have small or no amounts of ppg in them which might work better for you.

Got another question on maybe some scalp peeling, does PG cause a film on the scalp that shows up as flaking on the scalp after washing and brushing? Or could it be the Reviovogen azelaic acid/alcohol content and drying the skin, I have not seen dandruff or flaking for 3+ years since hairloss started to become

It's the PG in the Kirkland, I'm suffering with the same problem. It causes my scalp to become really dry and continually flake.

Rashlan, are u using Kirkland and Revivogen? Or just Kirkland?

The last two weeks I was doing some experimenting seeing if it is the PPG or Revivogen, its hard to say. I wanna say yes it is the PPG, but at the same time looking at the ingredinets of Revivogen the SD Alcohol is very drying, plus it has Azelaic Acid. For the most part when I stopped the Kirkland, the forehead felt better and there was less scalp flaking, I still had some flakes on the scalp, perhaps this is the SD Alcohol and Azelaic Acid in the Revivogen.

The other thing I have noticed since starting the Kirkland's Minoxidil and a week later the Revivogen is and increase in shedding, I am kinda worried here. I would have to say I am a NW5 in the overall balding aspect, but I still have hair all over, just very thin (yes I know I am a late bloomer realizing my stage of hairloss). For the previous 4 months I was loosing maybe 7-10 hairs a day on the foam morning/night (about the same before I started, since though I have seen some new sprouts). Since I changed to foam in morning, revivogen in afternoon/after work (shower w/shampoo and conditioner) then waiting atleast 3hrs I applied Kirklands, I noticed my hair loss has doubled... Could it be adding Kirkland, is it stronger than foam or delivered differently that I am seeing a new shed? Or is it the addition of Revivogen?

Or is abosrption being blocked or effected by my routine? Start with the washing in afternoon with Revivogen shampoo/cond then application of serum, atleast three hours later I apply minoxidil, mostly Kirklands...sleep...apply foam in morning, repeat.

I have irritation when using Kirkland mino too.

I reduced the number of time of application.

After 2 months, scalp has get used to it. No more irritation.

I've used Rogaine foam AM and Kirkland liquid PM for months with no irritation and I use well over the recommended dose.

You could be sensitive to the PPG in the kirkland though.

Obvious way to find out is to cycle the two as you say.

I'd drop the Revivogen first for a couple of weeks as that crap is unlikely to be doing anything whatsoever anyway.

So I just started my second bottle of Kirklands today, however I noticed the last 3 application (nights) my scalp is very irritated and itchy...its the same irritation (burning) I orginally posted about. Mainly the vertex and a bit towards the top. I have been using it a month with almost no issues, what gives! I think the forehead issue is from the Revivogen, I have been taking a little extra cautious making sure I do not get any on my forehead, gotta watch the over spray.
