I started on Rogaine Foam 3 weeks ago and noticed my hair loss has increased considerably since starting. The top of my head has gotten really thin/patchy.

Should I be alarmed and/or stop the treatment?? I knew I might shed, but not this much, and not so soon.

I noticed today Rogaine Foams manual states that, "If hair loss continues after 2 weeks on ROGAINE® product, stop using and talk to your doctor".

Its been nearly 4 weeks now and I'm still massively shedding. Do I stop now until I see the specialist in a few weeks??? I'm so conflicted.

When I first started using 5% Minoxidil, I went through a massive shed for the first two months of twice daily usage. After the Minoxidil shedding stopped, I started to get regrowth and I'm glad that I stayed with the medication. For most people, the best results usually come at the two year mark. If you're still shedding after four months of using Minoxidil, quit the medication.

Sometimes having your hair get worse is a necessary evil for your hair to get better.
