Hello,

I have used kirkland minoxidil in the past, for about a year, with not that great of results.

I have recently been using a mix of DMSO, at 5 ml's per 4 ounces in a 5% minoxidil sulfate topical.

I have been using the minoxidil sulfate for 6 months and been using my added combo of minoxidil sulfate & DMSO for about 3 months.

I read that DMSO is not soluble in regular minoxidil, but since minoxidil sulfate is soluble in water, I have had faith in adding it to my minoxidil sulfate mix.

I feel a big difference ( mostly In the form of a slight tingling sensation), and seem to be getting better results with my minoxidil sulfate & DMSO combo than I ever did from regular minoxidil.

Also, even after adding the DMSO and letting the solution sit for weeks, there is no precipitation.

But, I read that minoxidil sulfate becomes unstable fast and reverts back to regular minoxidil, so wouldn't there be some fallout due to the fact that regular minoxidil is not soluble in regular water....?

I'm also wondering if I'm getting better results now from using minoxidil sulfate and DMSO, or would I have achieved the same thing by adding DMSO to my kirkland minoxidil, back when I was using that, but then again, the solubility issue of DMSO in regular minoxidil might be a problem.

Has anyone had any experiences or success with DMSO in minoxidil, whether regular or sulfated minoxidil?

And, has anyone had any success with a minoxidil sulfate topical? I have not that to many makers of a minoxidil sulfate solution online, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Pamela,

I have also been using minoxidil sulfate. Recently I added mint oil & DMSO at about 3% or so.

I have read the many benefits of using DMSO with minoxidil, but like you said, I also read about it not being soluble in propylene glycol which is what regular minoxidil is mainly made to use as a carrier.

Which made me switch to minoxidil sulfate in hopes that the DMSO would incorporate better. It seems to blend right in with no precipitate.

I do get a slight tingle from it, but I guess that means that it is working....???

I do feel that my minoxidil sulfate is working better than the regular minoxidil that I used about 3 years ago, but than again, I never mixed regular minoxidil with DMSO.

Please keep me updated on your progress. I'm glad there is someone else that is pioneering minoxidil sulfate. Best of luck : )

Try 25% DMSO & cut DMSO with water/distilled water.. propylene glycol should not effect mixture..

A kilo of min?, I was considering but think the ready made one might be better formulated.

Also any sides from spironolactone, are you on oral spironolactone or topical?, I’m considering topical spironolactone.

I bought a kilo of it few years back..

I bought the minoxidil sulphate few years ago from China..my thinking then was maybe this version of minoxidil might work since every other version I tested ( must have been 10 or more —didn’t do a thing). but after experimenting with it —It really didn’t do anything significant no matter what concentration… I now am experimenting with another minoxidil formulation that might actually work…
It’s a topical time released minoxidil in a DMSO/distilled water base that penetrates the skin & released minoxidil for a few hours but 48 hours..
I’ve bought 2 bottles of this to test it out.
Too early to tell but I think this might be actually working..
I have Spirolactone.. it’s also good for acne btw.. but I really don’t think that’s the way to go.. because you’d have to be one big doses for months to have any effect & risk of gyno is real. At a low dose there is no such risk.. so possibly if the hair starts growing back a low dose might help even more w/o sides..
Actually I do several things..
if I do a topical I uses a dmso/distilled water topical first.. I think the dmso penetrates better & also is a DHT inhibitor.. I have 3 topicals I use off/on
But everyday I use Hairmax Hairguard & their scalp brush 10 minutes.
Then Niostem bio electric lap cap 30 minutes. And Hairmax laser cap 7 minutes every other day..
I also ordered a Stimulfield PEMF cap for November..
Yes I’m a health nut .. but see hair regrowth.. It’s funny how hairs as they get healthier get thicker shafts with better pigment

Which 3 topicals do you use, have you tried topical spironolactone, or you think it’s too weak,
mostly want it for maintenance,

Also for the dmso thing, that was mostly for min right?

I’m getting good regrowth from pyri + fluridil + min, but probably might need to add some more topicals to be safe.

I’m currently trying Necessaire scalp serum..read some interesting reviews so just trying it.. I have 2 bottles of Vegamour Gro+ which I like the company but can’t say if it’s working or not.. I have a Duasteride topical which I put some Peppermint oil & minoxidil sulfate & DMSO ..which I’ve had for years & it should work but can’t say for sure..
But the interesting one nobody’s heard of is New Hair Formula.. This formulation is in unique..it’s expensive but I got 2 bottles for $50 each .. This topical absorbs in skin almost instantaneously.. & I think it’s really sprouting some new hairs..

DMSO will help anything absorb instantly so don’t pay for something you can make easily….and it’s super cheap.
