Minoxidil to restore my hairline.

Long story short, I have developed the classic V shaped hairline. Its probably a mature hairline, however I really dislike it (norwood 1). One side is sharper then the other.

This has limited me to one type of hairstyle - the fauxhawk, which doesnt suit my face. My best hairstyle ever was one where my hairline is a bit more juvanile. I want to lower my mature hairline a bit. Would Minoxidil work?

Im 24 now. Only thing that puts me of minoxidil is my healthy hairs becoming dependent on it.

Thanks.

Would like the corners to be a bit lower. i.e. slick bald areas filling with hair.

man, same situation here but as far as we know, it's not possible to grow hair on the "naked-areas"
the hair is gone,,,, :-(

Your hair is perfect. you will make a big mistake if you start any medication now. wait another few more years before doing anything. I seriously don't see anything wrong.

I've grown hair in "naked areas" so it is not impossible. Even these areas have tiny hairs if you look closely enough. A good responder on a decent regimen may be able to revive them.

I don't think the orginal poster should jump the gun yet. I personally don't believe there is a problem there other than a maturing hairline, which quite frankly I don't think you can really stop.

Thanks. That is the only reason why I have not started it.

But as you say: I have velius hair that can be revived:

You can see them near my temple points. But as you say I dont know if it is worth the risk.

I have been using topical spironolactone, can't say if it has done much.

My temple points were actually easy to thicken up/grow. Try minoxidil and topical spironolactone on those and see what happens.

Is there a chance that the rest of my hair can become dependent on it? - minoxidil that is

minoxidil helped along my hairline. it mostly regrew fine hairs, so not a complete success, but it did fill up nonetheless.

but i dont know about your situation. your hairline looks fine, and i dont think its worth making the lifetime commitment if your problem isnt that big

If you're only applying it to your temples the rest of your hair shouldn't become dependent on minoxidil.
