I am thinking about adding Minoxidil to my regimen now. Which one do u guys recommend.. being the cheapest yet effective main criteria here... Also would recommend if only one application is needed/day.

On a side note, anyone heard of ZIX solution? is it effective or worth giving a shot?

A specific Hair specialist i went to told me that once a day application will have 90% the effect of twice a day. I know for sure that convinced me to piss off this twice a day application... which i'll tell you now... is a FULL sl*t!

I hate it, others like it, but i stopped and my scalp feels and looks MUCH better. But give it a go once a day and decide for yourself.

Zix solution? You want the link to make it yourself? I have heard some like it. I have never tried it honestly. :)

I buy generic 5% minoxidil on Ebay, Kirkland (Costco) brand. It's $8/btl delivered and it works. Three months in and I'm clearly regrowing. I apply only at night, 2ml covering the whole top of my head. Twice/day causes intolerable itch, not to mention the greasy residue. Good luck!

I think I read somewhere that the Minoxidil molecule only has a half life of 5 hours in the human blood stream. Therefore, 2 applications are necessary per day just to keep the scalp levels to a point where it would cause regrowth. For maintenance, however, one application should do the trick... Always follow the instructions on drugs.

And all minoxidil products of similar stature are created equal. A 20 dollar 4 pack of Kirkland minoxidil solution is equivalent to a 60 dollar 4 pack of Rogaine. Both are so similar, in fact, that they have identical lot numbers.

It's your choice, pick the cheaper, or the name brands.

So kirkland is a reliable minoxidil. solution? How many ppl here tried using it only once a day and got good results, such as regrowth and thickening of hair? What abt Dr. Lee's 15% one, that one u only have to use once per day and is supposed to be a really killer minoxidil solution... its expensive though..

It makes me laugh how some people just cannot get their head around the branding of hairloss treatments and drugs.

Look at the ingredients not the brand name. 5% minoxidil is the same whatever brand it is. Some maybe greasier than others but the all do the same job.

Regaine, Rogaine, Kirkland etc are probably made in the same factory with different labels put on them.

Dr Lee formulates his own stuff that is quick drying and also does other formulations with addiotnal ingredients such as Xandrox etc.

It all depends on if you guy generics or name brand. There's a market for both. While the generics often work just as well as the name brands... when it comes to my hair I decided I would fork over the extra 10 or 20 bucks spread out over 3 months and get the name brand stuff. Cant hurt, and it isnt exactly breaking my bank.
