just wondering why will it still take at least 4 years for it to be marketed? i know it's a dumb question...but please explain to me why it is dumb. What else do they have to overcome?

For instance, they can't control the direction of the hairs yet. Very important issue.

But Axon that was before they found the correct trigger signals for stemcells to transform into folliclebuilding cells.

Last word was 3 - 4 years away and I´m optimistic they will infact succeed.

I thought in the interview with the boosley guy he said the hair would grow the same direction as the rest....

But then he also said it wouldn't be good for hairlines though...

Will they grow in the same general direction or will there be hair sprouting completly backwards and every which way?

ya, i don't have any good feeling about cloning. i'm sure there is a lot of bugs to be worked out & it probably will be many years before they actually do a real procedure. it's too bad they can't do some kind of artificial hair implants in our scalp that would last a long time. they did something like this in the past that resulted in severe scalp scarring & the procedure was quickly discontinued. if women can receive artificial boobs, why can't we get fake hair & i'm not talking about rugs....

I never belived in dr Gho! not for a second. I belive in hair cloning because I know of projects to recreate entire organs such as the heart - makes the follicle seem insignificant.

Many years ago I started the long road of hair transplant procedures. I was one of the early ones, and things like shock fallout weren't known, or at least told to the patients. I found myself, like so many, out of usable grafts, before the job was completed. I always thought the combination of available grafts, and some kind of artificial hair to mingle with the hair transplants, would be a very acceptable solution, but no has yet pioneered a way to use fake hair, along with natural.

i had 5 prodedures & still have a ton of donor left. i have pics ofme posted in the tell your story thread. my thread there is "greg's story" see them. i heard of people transplanting a thick hair line & then using a toupee behind the transplanted hairline. sounds like a clever idea, but it's still a toupee & i would never go for that. too phony. i heard some years ago of people actually piercing the scalp & sticking artificial hair strands right into the scalp & it resulted in scarring & infection, so the procedure was outlawed.

It was 5 years away when I started in 2002. Think about that.

Fast forward to 2013 and the whole project got scrapped by a bunch of businessmen sh*theads because they wanted to continue selling wigs.

The end result? Aderans was able to halt further loss and restore more hair than finasteride and minoxidil combined. Was projected to be out as a commercial product in 2015. Obviously that won't happen.

With this society that is selfish and only wants to make money I am not shocked.
