More sex, less hair?

I know this sounds like a silly question, but it's not: does increased sexual activity result in more hair loss? I mean, if sex increases testosterone levels, the logical consequence should be the worsening of male pattern baldness, right?

I remember I had LOTS of sex a couple of months ago (I won't go into any details, but, believe me, it was A LOT) and my hair started falling like crazy. Now that my sex life has stabilized, hair loss seems to be normal. Does this make any sense?

Another thing that worries me is the swimming pool. I go swimming two times a week and I'm afraid the chemical products used to clean the water could damage my hair. Any thoughts on this?

Flavio please do a search...this question and masturbation have been brought up thousands of times in the last year alone. You will find some good discussions.

As far as swimming and chlorine, I dont think it contributes to hair loss, further hair loss. Its how I stay fit and my hairloss hasnt gotten any worse. I also see older men sporting their nice thick grayish manes who have been at the club for years and have not receded or lost any hair due to swimming. SO go jump in a pool and f*** as many broads as you can while you still can! :woot:

Although sex isn't a direct cause of it, it, to a degree, accelerates hair loss to predisposed individuals like myself. Reason being is, testosterone is elevated afterwards. Whether or not this means more DHT is created I'm not really sure, but countless online sources state so, so I'm lead only to believe it is an accelerating factor. Of course, regardless of how sensitive and emo I am about my hair, this wouldn't stop be from getting sex. gratif., because abstaining from that would lead to stress and withdrawal - something that is probably as effective in accelerating hair loss.

For those who are not predisposed, they either do not produce that much DHT or do not have required genes, or a little bit of both. In fact one might suggest the other.

I'd say wear a swimming cap or whatever for it.

Predisposed is the key word here. A guy with 'good' genes could have sex every five minutes or spend his entire life in the swimming pool and not be affected at all, but I do know a couple of bald guys who said that swimming accelerated their baldness process.

Anyway, I don't intend to stop swimming, that's for sure. Maybe if I could find a swimming pool with less agressive cleaning products...

...a toxic swimming pool will not accelerate your baldness, that is, make your follicles smaller...

That's only associated with male pattern baldness and the conversion of testosterone to DHT...

Harmful chemicals can alter the condition of your hair, i.e. shafts growing out of your scalp, but it won't progress your hair loss (miniaturization).

At least, nothing I've read said swimming pools had any connection with male pattern baldness.

Ah, one of those reasons I hate life. I think the general public here are aware. Don't bring things like that up again, if you don't mind.
