Moving to 0.5mg Finasteride to save money?

So, while looking into lowering my dosage (for fear of sides) -- I found that 0.2mg, 1mg, and 5mg finasteride have very similar effectiveness when it comes to hair loss.

(source: http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/hair-loss-pdf/finasteride-doses.pdf)

Hair counts @ 6 months in this study:

5.0 mg: +95
1.0 mg: +77
0.2 mg: +61
0.01 mg: -3

With that in mind, would it be crazy to switch to 0.5mg or even 0.25mg to save money? When it comes down to dollar-per-hair, seems like a good choice.

Thanks

I don't get the point of this. The sides come from lowered DHT and the hair loss benefits come from lowered DHT so its impossible to separate the two. I been on finasteride for 10+ years with little to no sides so I'm a fan but in order to get the hair loss benefits you have to drastically lower DHT which is what brings on the sides. Plus .5 mg lowers DHT about as much 1 mg anyways from what I've seen. I guess you'll save money at least.

I love hearing people have been on it for 10 years. All the people it works for never post!

I'm asking only for money saving. I think it's been determined that if there were any sides, taking a small amount is not the solution.

Why not cut the 5mg tablets into 5ths?

Btw some people NEED a higher finasteride dosage to get results. Some people get absolutely no effect from 1mg, but have effect from 2mg.

I take 1,25mg EOD. Since there is no real difference between 1mg and 0.5mg, why not just take the lower dosage, at least you save some money.

There can be a huge difference between that dosage depending on the person.
