I remember when I first started properly balding and I remember going through the bargaining stage. I would rather have cancer than this ****.. I would say..

I would. At least then I'd get sympathy.

tbh I would as well. At least with cancer, if you can beat it your hair will grow back

I remember in high school there was a kid who got cancer. He was actually a massive d1ck but because of that he got so much sympathy. School gave him rewards for "physical courage" and he was given special entry into uni.

Courage? As uncomfortable man said, did he stand in line to sign up to get this cancer or something?

How are these people brave? They get cancer and they try to heal from it. There's nothing brave in that, they would have to do it anyway.

How about knowing you are going to live a sub-version of the life you were supposed to live? About being ostracised and mocked socially with zero sympathy?

How about the vast majority of women brushing you off because "You're bald, not attracted to you, sorry for being honest"? How about being turned down for jobs?

How about then ending up living like a social recluse for the rest of your youth just because you don't match the description of what a young man should look like or be?

And no one is going to give you a hug and tell you that despite all these misfortunes, it's going to be alright. You have no right to complain, just accept your fate as a social outcast and man up!

Dealing with hair loss is the ultimate form of courage, NW1 people can pretend all they want that they know about what true suffering might be, they have no clue.

They have no clue until they start suffering from balding themselves. Seeing your appearance eroding, losing your identity, ultimately just becoming an ugly person.

As I've said many times, many of these righteous NW1 would probably cry themselves to bed every night for years if it happened to them.

I agree with everything besides cancer patients not being brave. I have seen someone die from cancer and I have to say she was very brave who kept a smile on her face until the very end knowing she was dying and going through a lot of pain.

Yeah you're right Fred. Speaks volumes that many cancer patients think losing their hair is the worst part of cancer. And they get the all the sympathy in the world, while common baldness gets none. As you may know I'm thinking of getting a hair system/wig soon, and I found out that people with cancer or alopecia get their wigs covered (at least part of it), but androgenic alopecia sufferers have to pay full price because it's not a disease (literally the words that were used). I think it's absolutely disgusting that we are treated this way, when we suffer a lot because of our condition!

yeah its easy to be "brave" when you know people will acknowledge it
as fred mentioned you get no bravery points for being a balding guy in his youth trying to make the best out of a sh!tty situation

Totally agree, Fred. It disgusts me to the core how fatties are responsible for their own misery yet are put on a pedestal. As baldies we are in no way responsible for our misery yet we must pay the price.

Agree about the fat people. Not only that gastric baypass surgery is competely covered but aftervards, the excess skin removal surgery- which is pure cosmetic is also covered. I know a women who had this surgery and she continues to live very unhealthy lifestyle- smoking, drinking, eating junk...

At least you signed in to the mental institution by yourself, that's something!

She's there giving this dude crap for his and societies perception/treatment of fat girls. A condition she brought upon herself. What's funny is she is giving crap to a bald guy, with balding being one of the biggest, easiest, most accepted reasons to crap on a person for. They don't even see the irony in this whole scene since most of society still does not want to acknowledge the fact that bald guys are treated like garbage.

I have verry little respect for fat people. I just cant help myself.. I do try and keep telling myself: "Noo, you cant be like this..no!" but **** it. I can understand that one can let himself go for a little while and then gets back in shape.

Yes, seriously. It makes me sick really how we are treated, and how little respect we are given. Men of course are given even less sympathy than women, but that doesn't make going bald any easier for me.

Where I life insurance companies do pay for your hair piece if you are a woman with AA. However if you are a guy with AA they don't, no matter the age. S*cks to hear that the insurance policy there is different

Agreed, getting sympathy isn't going to make the situation any better. People that give sympathy always try to talk thing right and will most of the time start there sentences with at least. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing. Examples are; at least you are healthy. At least men are more tolerant with girls wearing wigs etc. They truth is that both genders are facing the same problems; loss of identity, loss of dating market value, treated like sh*t by society and so on.

Let's just hope that the wig thing for some reason does work out for you or your hair magically grows back...

woww.. you guys are actually really messed up, you are comparing cancer to balding, is that a ****in joke! the worst part about cancer is killing yourself in hopes of killing the cancer before you die (chemo), not going bald.. i love how you guys all have something in common yet bash other peoples problems (being overweight, free hairpieces due to cancer) wtf man, the reason why you bald people get treated like **** is due to your ****ty *** attitude towards life, look at you guys... i know plenty of bald people who live happier lives and are with prettier girls than people with hair... if your a ****ty person and your balding, one of them is unavoidable but at least try to change your ****ty attitude towards life or dont express your disgusting opinion and spread that bull**** negativity.... the harsh truth is that balding isnt the reason the youre not getting laid, your ****ty attitude towards life (that balding and feeling like some sort of victim gave you) plays a HUGE role, cause i got 2 or 3 friends that are slick bald.. 1 of them is ugly as hell and still manages to bag 8's on weekends... balding and being bald could def be emotionally painful ya it sucks believe me i know, but this thread is actually ****ed up

It's the same in Belgium for the wigs and the surgeries.

You're suffering from a terrible disease of the spirit that makes you lose your identity? Sorry you need to pay 500€ for a hair piece and 5000€ for a hair transplant.

You go five times a week to McDonalds and stuff your face with greasy and sugary foods? No problem, your bypass surgery will be fully covered by your insurance.

And you know what the worst part is? In Europe, obesity in now considered a disease! I have no respect for the fatties and our enabling health care system.

On a side-note:

This is an excerpt of the TV show Louie I'm currently watching. Just listen to the rant of that fat woman. This scene has been praised on all feminist websites of course.

Now imagine just for a second a bald guy holding the same discourse: "I'm bald so women don't want to have sex with me anymore, don't I deserve that like every man?!"

He would be ridiculed and deemed pathetic by our sick society.

That's an incredible clip though. You really have to stand in awe at how well comedians portray reality despite making everyone laugh at the same time, but that there really does a brilliant job of sending the message. However.......... OBESITY HAS OPTIONS; physical activity, diets and surgery. There is NOTHING out there to fully restore a completely bald head.

The hypocrisy is total fvcking bull****.

Show me a woman that looks good bald/balding... There aren't any.. Without a thick head of hair all women look awful.

Balding men on the other hand can look okay with thinning hair/ a shaved head.

There will always be disparity between how balding men and women are treated.

Agreed on everything about fat people. If you really want to get wound up search health at every size or fat acceptance.. The delusion is unbelievable

Does a shaved head count? If so, challenge accepted:
