I don't understand your statement. For all I know, maybe Folligen DOES penetrate more. Did I say something that seemed to contradict that possibility??

I was referring above to the specific Tricomin peptide, plus a few others that were tested in those studies that were published in "Clinics in Dermatology". I never even mentioned Folligen.

To answer some of the previous questions, the CP Serum has been great for my face. The CPs do something that provide the skin cells with some sort of nutrient or something that somehow replaces a critical factor in skin repair that the human body depletes with as we age. Sorry for being vague, I don't know much about the details, but I DO know that CPs are right up there with AHA and Retinol as a very well-accepted anti-ageing treatment. Like I mentioned, my ex worked for a dermotologist who definitely backed the use of CPs for skin health. You can read more about them at http://www.skinbiology.com (Dr Pickhart's site, where I get my CP serum from), but I have read about them on some other websites as well.

The CPs have improved the overall texture and elasticity of my skin. I am an ex-smoker, have been quit for about a decade now, but I think the smoking left a certain sallowness in my skin along with sun damage, and the CPs have DEFINITELY given it a more fresh look, especially around the eyes. Now, this is just one part of an broader regimen that my ex's boss, the dermotologist recommended for me. He told me that I should wash my face with SOAP AND WATER twice a day. He said NOT to use these expensive "facial cleansers" because they are loaded with fats that puff up skin cells to make them look better temporarily, but actually do very little to get rid of the skin oils below that are laden with dirt and grime, that need to be removed. He said not to use a moisturizing soap, but a basic soap that has a good ph level, recommending Lever 2000. In the mornings after shower, I apply a thin layer of 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid in a moisturizing cream base. In the evening, I apply the CPs. Now, this advice might not be good for everyone, he said I have "combination skin", and he also said that the CPs tended to reduce sebum production on the face. This regimen has worked spendidly for me, but when I am planning on being out in the sun I have to put on a light sunscreen, SPF 20, as the AHAs make the skin sensitive to burning.

CP sprays, like Folligen, are NOT like the CP serum. The CP serum is in a different vehicle base.

Wouldn't your statement be more accurate if you had stopped after the first sentence?

While Folligen and Tricomin haven't been tested in head-to-head comparisons, the CU formula in Folligen has been tested on skin renewal, and according to Pickart, it has been found to be more effective than the CU formula in Procyte products. I'm not sure whether those tests have been published yet, because apparently they have been cited as part of his patent application on his so-called "second generation" CU formula.

Of course, that doesn't tell us which CU formula is more effective for growing hair, which gets back to my first sentence in this post.

BTW, whomever said that minoxidil and CUs are most effective when used together (I think it was Red Rose) is accurate. According to Pickart, while minoxidil tends to promote the growth of new vellus hairs, CUs tend to turn those hairs into terminal hairs.

There are a number of possibilities here. It could be that Tricomin, volume for volume, is more effective than Folligen. It could be the other way around. It could be that per $ spent, Folligen is more effective, because it is cheaper, and so you can apply more for the same money. At this point, we don't really know.

What we can say with a high degree of certainty, though, is that CUs should be a part of every topical regimen. At this point I think we can say that they are every bit as proven as minoxidil.

No, but the amount of data that has been published on the two compounds is persuasive. That doesn't necessarily mean that minoxidil works better, but there's not much room for dispute over which has the most evidence. Minoxidil has a "ton," and copper peptides have a "tad."

I'm not sure of the exact number of published studies showing the effectiveness of CUs, but there are a number of them. They all show that CUs are effective in regrowing hair. Once the results of one study have been duplicated several times, piling on additional studies does nothing to increase the evidence, it just becomes redundant. We know to a high degree of certainty that both minoxidil and CUs work. That was my point. In addition, there is some evidence that they work together better than either separately.

Well, I have a question? This is a great post and I am learning alot. I added CU's to my regimen and they don't seem to have done much. It's been 3 months. I am using Folligen right now because of the price. If I feel that folligen has not producing results, is it worth trying Tricomin?? I would appreciate input.

Give anything you try at least 6 months before even attempting to evaluate its effectiveness. Take pictures before you start, then take pictures after six months, then compare. This goes for all treatments.

Gardener proceed carefully with Tricomin and Minoxidil. Menthol is a great penetration enhancer, and might increase your absorption of minoxidil. Watch for rapid heartbeat, and the usual suspects.

I used Tricomin for years then switched to Crew, agreed that that Tricomin seemed to pack more punch. Ive since switched to Alterna Life Restore which has copper, zinc and Bryan favorite pet peeve ingredient Azelaic Acid :lol:

I think Jacob has used it the past. Good stuff but kinda pricey.

On another note, are you getting stoked for USC footbal or what? This years game with the Irish should be a little more competetive.....

6oz=180ml, at 1ml twice per day that's a 3 month supply.

I cant tell if its one half month supply or half a month's supply. If its truly half a month for ~50 bucks that stuff is uber expensive. However, the flip side of that is still not cheap, but more within my budget
