Hi guys,

I've been a voyeur on this and other forums over the last couple of years and have researched and experimented with a couple treatment options suggested here.

Getting to the point, I was approx. NW1 and noticed some slight recession on one side about 4 years ago which I shrugged off as my hair was generally thick and it wasn't at all noticeable (I have quite long hair).

Then 2 years ago I went through a lot of emotional stress and my hair deteriorated quite suddenly in terms of condition on top and began to recede on both sides aggressively to at least a NW2.

Being quite vain I was aware this was happening so did my best to fight it. And from taking cues from the internet I initially tried Saw Palmetto with Pumpkin seed oil for about 4-5 months which did nothing but upset my stomach, so I fizzled that out.

The next thing I tried (with saw palmetto for a bit) was Regenepure DR only on the frontal area - I made the mistake of overusing it at first and it thinned my hairline badly. I believe this (and probably other Keto shampoos) should be used with caution; I have been using it for over a year now and only some of that shed hair is starting to grow back. I'm considering dropping it altogether and maybe just using it when i get a break out of spots/inflammation around my hairline (it seems good for this).

The point I'm making is that be cautious when using any products suggested on the internet; In hindsight I would have used the Keto shampoo just once or twice a week and weighed up the results.

Hairloss is scary when it starts and you worry if/when it will stop but there's that saying "throwing the baby out with the bath water". I feel some of these treatments/products should be more honest with the results they promote.

Or maybe you should try using treatments that actually work (Finasteride and Minoxidil).

I have come to understand that a lot of people who use Minoxidil on their hairline can experience shedding and no regrowth. And finasteride can be overkill for many people for the risk of obvious sides discussed many times.

So obviously guys like me think oh ok well lets try something lighter; but I think even with the lighter options you should use with caution as I said in my original post.

So, in essence, OP.. you're telling people to just accept their hairloss and be done with it. Got it.

No I am saying exercise with caution, even with the milder stuff like Keto based shampoo. I.e don't do what i did and use it everyday for 10 days straight only to realise you've shed a load of hair that might be hard to grow back.
