Kevin is not a honest man, maybe $ is the reason, more for a vegan guy
Hello Armando :)
@losingbattle88 @Mr. Slap Head
Update:

The top is in january after ceasing to use dutasteride, the bottom is now (mid october) after using finasteride 1.25 mg daily.

Other things I include in my current routine are 2.5 mg oral minoxidil, dermarolling (1mm weekly) and red lamp. Currently eyeing with GHK-Cu peptide and topical melatonin as additions.
wait, when you were on dutasteride, were you still on oral minoxidil? Or is that after you switched back to finasteride?

Same case here.

After 3 years on dutasteride my hair got thinner, lighter and kinky (weird shape). I never tried finasteride as I thought if I had to take 1, dutasteride is more powerful.

dutasteride seems not to be the answer for some of us, I really feel my case when I see your pictures, maybe not so heavy but my hairline is destroyed.

Despite I´m also using oral minoxidil since June, my hairline is full of miniaturized hairs.

I´ve stopped dutasteride in September, and 1 week ago I´ve changed my regimen to 1mg finasteride one week ago + oral minoxidil 4mg + Alphatradiol. I hope I could get an improvement. I won´t get back my previous state, but I can´t stand the miniaturization in my hairline :(

2 images above are in 2021 before dutasteride.

Dutasteride is the fastest way to accelerate balding for most people.

Weirdly enough my hairline didn’t seem to move back on dutasteride, despite reading such cases like yours on reddit.

For me dutasteride obliterated my hair in a diffuse linear pattern, at the crown the most:

My hairline and temples were always my problem, but I clearly believe dutasteride is a problem for me because I can finasteride a lot of thin hair in the whole head, even in the donor area.

Looking back, since I started dutasteride in 2022 my hair never was "healthy": curved hairs, kinky, quite light colour, ... I wish I had stopped it before, in 2023 I noticed really thin hair and in 2024 a big shedding that lasted 1 year.

But ... I can not back in time but at least I´m excited to clean my body out of dutasteride and see if I can a 30% of your regrowth ;)

Try to keep posting, it can be really useful for people who are on dutasteride and can´t get any result.

How is your hair growth speed since taking dutasteride? Has it slowed down?

I can vouch for you going on finasteride, for me it is slowly recovering the butchering duta has done on me but I am aware it will take a long time :(

For the hairline I think you should try microneedling, I started doing it this year and I’ve been getting a few new little hairs on the hairline

I used dutasteride for 3 years. For the first year and a half, I didn't notice any change, neither better nor worse. It was after the first year and a half that I started noticing extremely fine hairs, especially curly ones with strange shapes, all over my scalp.

I'm using ORAL MIN for 5 months and haven't noticed anything yet, which doesn't make much sense. I hope that detoxing from dutasteride will help.

Regarding microneedling, I tried it when I was using topical MIN. I tried dermarollers and dermapens, but they ended up causing me some irritation.

I've been off dutasteride for 1 month, and I'm using the following treatment for a week now, which I hope will last at least a year, to evaluate: 1mg finasteride + 4mg oral MIN + alphatradiol topical to treat high T levels in the scalp.

Which Alfatradiol do you use?

To cheer you up a bit, I continued to regress even months after stopping dutasteride, things started to get better after around half a year (coincidally around the time it takes dutasteride to completely leave the body) and in the last 1-2 monts I am getting significant regrowth & recovery.

Ever since this fiasco I visit a trychologist every 3 months to scan my scalp under microscope and it is objectively improving thankfully. I would encourage you to do the same as it can be tricky & misleading to judge our hair just by looking at it in the mirror / on selfies.

Btw my GHK-Cu peptide arrived, I’m looking forward to try it out

He is just Iberian probably tbh
Both are right.

I´m spanish and I always had prominent eyebrows, but body hair became darker and thicker since I started oral min 5 monts ago (nothing significant in the head, lol).
I know these things take time, it´s quite frustrating starting "again" a new process but I´m excited to clean my body out of dutasteride. I cancelled an appointment with a very good surgeon in Spain, but I feel I´m not stabilized. All I need at this point is that, I visited 3 surgeons and all considered my case as an "easy case", but native hair must be stabilized or on the contrary the result in a couple of years can be a disaster. So I´ll be focused on that, because if I expect to have a hairline perfect it won´t be possible at this point and it can be really frustrating.
I have a microscope lol, and from now on I´ll try to take pictures in the same conditions. There are a lot of trychologist here but they are only useful to get meds, they also have microscopes but not to check number of follicles, just to see the current conditions.

Can you give me a link?

Ask them for the list of the alopecia treatments as they have a lot of diferent options. But if you need help just let me know.

What about side effect from oral minoxidil? Do you have tingle sensation from it?
