Something is going on with your hair/health. And I really believe it's MORE SERIOUS than just
androgen alopecia.

For one,

1. It's diffuse on the sides AND back.

2., It's prematurely all gray. Usually, people aren't that gray until their forties/possibly 39 and up.

That's quite a lot of gray hair. Your ENTIRE scalp is THINNING. And going gray. Serious under
active thyroid might be the cause, in which case you might be able to reverse hair loss.

I would STRONGLY recommend you get screened for a variety of health problems. Thyroid problems/cancer,
or cancer somewhere else.

That hairloss does NOT look like normal androgen alopecia

Thanks, i have just ordered these products in response to your post to try:

Natures Own Thyroid Suppo 60 Tablets
BULK POWDERS Complete Greens Powder, Pure Super Greens, Unflavoured, 100 g
Nelsons Spatone 100% Natural Iron Supplement - Pack of 28 Sachets (Packaging May Vary)
Swanson Blackstrap Molasses with Iron (29mg, 120 Capsules)
Swanson Fo-ti (He-Shou-Wu) 500mg, 60 Capsules
Also sea kelp for iodine

These are mainly thyroid support supplements so hopefully they will help. The Fo-ti is apparently a good way to darken hair again and im going to start drinking green tea and red grape juice often, also take a few brazil nuts daily and have some flaxseed oil.

Last time i had a blood test a year or 2 ago i was apparently fine for everything. I personally think it's more of an adrenal fatigue thing as i have had really bad stress and unexplained hair loss is a thing which can happen with that, i am also going to get ashwagandha.

I will try to arrange a dermatologist meeting from my local GP soon.

Also another thing to mention is i have had extreme insomnia for a long time, i go to bed at 11-12 and end up asleep around 3-5 in the morning, better sleep would most likely help my hair a great deal.

Anyway, today's pictures with a bit of Toppik hair fibres which definitely helps improve the look (Dark brown, the color i should be rather than gray)

I got some Amla Hair Oil (Indian gooseberry) and will use it often, it apparently helps darken hair.

Today's images, some are with wet hair, one with oil and others dry.

Today my hair looked slightly thicker in the morning, though i am not sure how well it shows in the photos. I have started a new vegan and vitamin diet for the last few days and have been using various hair products.

The crown area reveals scalp at the moment which i don't like, i am hoping then finasteride will begin to grow/thicken hair here.

And a similar view to above but with toppic, definitely hides some of the patches that reveal scalp.

And a view from the back with toppic

Yours definitely does not look like typical androgenic alopecia. Before you take propecia its very important you go to a doctor \ endocrinologist and get your blood work and hormones tested. Not all hair loss is caused by DHT - yours definitely does not look like it is. You have thinning all over not just in the typical horse shoe pattern. This is typical of other causes - stress, immune issues, these can also contribute to digestive issues which leave you deficient in important nutrients for hair like iron etc it could also be other hormonal imbalances not directly related to high DHT.

Don't blindly ingest random pills - go to a doctor first.

I am almost at 6 months of using Finasteride now. I stopped using minoxidil which was not working then had shedding, thinning etc.

I went to my doctors but they were useless and just offer me minoxydil.

Not sure if i could have a hair transplant, last time they told me to take inasteride.

I also shaved my head so the pictures are of it regrown from fairly close cut.

1) Do you think my hair looks much worse?

2) Should i continue with Finasteride? Do you think it should have worked by now?

Don't give up man
you can get new hair

Thanks for the support, if anything my hair is much darker now since i was basically grey at one point. The best things i found for that were coffee, henna power and alma oil then over time it got darker and more natural looking again.

I'm fairly convinced i have a condition where when i wash my hair, most of the nutrients get removed and then it gets ultra fine. I washed it today an hour or two before taking those pictures but if i leave it a few days it's possible it could look a lot thicker. I don't know why this happens but i go from it looking quite good to ultra fine every time i shower and clean my hair.
