Mmmmm Maybe it's bcoz u are using half an onion of the white variety then, plus you are diluting it with water. I guess I over did it haha I used two large purple ones in a moulinex food processor without water and then put it all in a fine strainer to collect the water. I got a huge amount of juice wasn't expecting that much! I also left it on my head for like 3 hours wrapped my head in plastic cellophane too.
Yeah I was wondering how often I need to do it. I forgot what the woman told me but it didn't seem like a weekly thing. Plus I figured since the smell is still on my head then it must have infiltrated well into the skin and is still doing whatever it is supposed to be doing so no need to use it again haha.

Today I did my third microneedling session and pushed harder than usual, using 1mm. It got a bit bloody in some places. I don't think I will go to 1.5mm very soon though. Plus I am using a Chinese pen and it might not be so accurate and probably is already going deeper than 1mm. Haven't noticed any shedding the first two times. But I did get a bit of shedding the day I applied the onion, from the onion I mean coz didn't microneedle on that day.

Not sure if I am imagining it but I swear I think the onion boosted my libido and I got super strong morning wood lol. I actually often get that effect when I eat garlic too, not sure if it has this effect on everyone or just some people, but whenever I eat garlic my libido shoots up for a day or 2, but can't do much coz I usually stink and can't stand myself let alone be around others :)

UPDATE AFTER (ALMOST) 3 MONTHS:
(for further references look in previous posts)

1-Shampoo/Conditioner
Again, nothing new to report, feels good in the hair and leaves my hair in really great condition, not dry, not oily, just good. Would recommend it. I use my homemade serum almost every night, so I really don't have any need to use the conditioner, so I have stopped using it.

2-Oral treatments:

2.1-Amitamin Hair Plus:
I have discontinued to use it for the last 2-3 weeks and I realize my nail quality has decreased a bit, so I will go back to taking it.

2.2-Castor oil:
I have been taking it for about 2-3 weeks, 1-2ml with a dropper, so many people reporting it was disgusting and stuff. Some even reporting throwing up after taking it? Lol what a bunch of pussies, the finas has been killing your hormones really! lol sorry for that
It doesn't taste that bad, yes, it doesn't taste good neither, just whatever. I take it before washing my teeth at night, and sometimes I take a little shot of pumpkin seed oil after the castor oil. So castor=>pumpkin=>brush teeth and no problem. Can't report anything on how effective it is yet.

2.3-Antoxidants/Blood flow:
Have been easy on supplements these last 2-3 weeks too. So I didn't take much, but will go back to most of it.

3-Topical treatments

3.1-My serum formula

Update on topical formula... Pretty much same formula as last update in the 30th of June. Sometimes I add more oily stuff and I add Pumpking seed oil/Coconut oil/Castor oil/Olive oil, my most of the time serum has this:

30ml container
Distilled water (85%)

Extracts:
-Caffeine
-Arginine
-Amitamin Hair plus (1/3 pill)
-Saw Palmetto (~1000mg, standarized for 85-95% fatty acids, 3 pills)
-Reishi mushroom (135mg, 1/2 pill)
-Vit C (500mg, 1/2 pill)
-Taurine
-Oil fish
-Vitamin E
-Grapeseed Extract
-Carnitine tartrate

That has been stable now for the last 2-3 weeks and finally I'm happy with my formula
I also add essential oils:

Essential oils (10-15 drops of each):
Lavender
Rosemary
Cedarwood
Peppermint Oil

(I'm out of rosemary and peppermint which are the best for the hair, especially the peppermint which feels amazing!, so I gotta buy them back!) I use the peppermint as aromatherapy as it smells delicious! Actually peppermint is what makes me able to stand the Saw Palmetto and Oil fish lol

3.2-Onion juice!

That's a motherfucking big discovery! It feels absolutely AMAZING on my hair, I can't recommend it enough!
I tried the purple variation of the onion and for some reason it didn't feel as great as the white one. I will continue to try the 3 variations of onions (white, yellowish, purplish) until I find the one that feels best for me.

Seriously, I can't stress enough and cannot think of a better/cheaper treatment for the overall health of your scalp. Try it!

4-Derminator

Continued same regime:

-1.25/1.5mm easy on the "hairy parts", harder on the "non-hairy parts" that we want to wake up lol
With this method I haven't shedded much after wounding myself. I apply pretty quickly the serum, so about 3-4 hours and after having disinfected with 96% alcohol for 2-3 times and when I feel the alcohol starts lowering its impact that's when I start to apply the serum. Every 7-10 days, more 10 than 7.

-And then after the ~4th day after going 1.25/1.5mm, I apply 0.25/0.5mm before applying serum (max. 1/day)

5-Massage:

Not much of it. I sometimes put my head down, especially on the shower while applying shampoo, and I feel the blood coming to the head.

Also, from time to time I have applied some pressure on the scalp when I sense it is greasy (when you press and it "hurts" I think that's when there is grease trapped). I go hard with the pressure and it's a little uncomfortable. I don't go rubbing with my hands or a brush, which I think produces a lot of shedding.

RESULTS

I'm very excited! I think I'm seeing some regrowth.

First, I am experiencing overall less shedding. I was shedding easily about 30-35 hairs when washing my head (counting them one by one) at the moment I started the treatment (before that, it had been about 10-15? for years). Pfff maybe even more. I mean I was sitting in front of the computer for a while, look down at the table and found a bunch of hairs, maybe 5-10 lol I was freaking out
So that, plus losing some ground, is what made me try to do something.

Then when I started the treatment, I went at least the same and even higher than that (remember it's me counting the hairs on my hands when I wash, so it's not a perfect method and will depend on more variables like how frequently I wash, etc, but it's a decent way of overall measure) for the first 1-2 months. It was even up to 40-50, some days even higher than that. I did freak out a bit lol but I thought f*** it, I'm not gonna quit, it might be working. Besides, what alternative did I have? I was going bald with no treatment anyways, so I would go bald either way, quitting or not lol
At the beginning btw I was shedding mostly a ton of tiny hairs, you could barely see them.

Now these last 4-5 weeks I'm starting to shed less and less, and this last week I've shed very little. There are no more tiny hairs anymore. On average I would say I'm back to 10-20, and actually today I could only count 3 hairs!

My hair also is feeling amazing in the last 2-3 weeks since I started applying onion, might be the goddamn onions? lol
What is true is that the itchiness overall has diminished more after starting to apply onion.

I would finally want to mention that I'm taking this seriously, applying the homemade serum 2-3 times a day, the onion 3+ times a week leaving it for a good few hours. There is a high percentage of the time when I have serum or onion in my scalp lol
So my commitment on the topical part is big.

And to be honest, I'm enjoying it! I enjoy creating the serum, I feel a little bit like a scientist lol even if what I'm applying could be improved with some alcohol or something that I don't know about. I just love it, it's cheap as f*** and it's entertaining, and I think that's why I haven't given up on it. Also it has some motherfucking beauty effects, it leaves the hair pretty amazing, I look better with it on my scalp, and as I say it's not too oily or too dry.

About regrowth? lol

Well it's still too early to tell. These things take a lot of time, but every day that I look at the mirror I see more vellus hairs, and also some terminal hairs too! I will update in a moment some pics. It's hard to see and it's hard to capture on the camera, my camera might not be good enough, but there is definitely more vellus hairs that you can see on camera. I think, in case it's actually regrowth and not some seasonal loss in spring and winning it back now, that a really good thing is that I started very early after seeing some loss. So best case scenario would be coming back to how I was 8 months ago, which to be honest for me would be great and would be enough to forget about trasplant for a few good years lol

So, I'm happy for now, not losing hope, and enjoying the process, let's see!

You hair seems super full, are you sure you are even balding? You are like Norwood O :)

I know some women use castor oil as topical on their eyebrows and hair to grow it faster and longer but rarely hear of anyone drinking it. Doesn't it have a laxative effect ?

I will try the white onion next, you seem to like it a lot and I don't think I can use the purple one again b4 at least a couple of month.

How do you know the pepermint and essential oils are actually the real thing? Most of them seem for candle use or something and have a warning on them not to get them on your skin :) I will check some pharmacies out and see what they have.

@newbiemicroneedler: Def not NW0, it's between 1 & 2, more close to 2 I would say. Maybe the pics I updated are not clear enough. I will update pictures in the future where my baldness state and pattern is more clearly appreciated, but it's absolutely undeniable looking at pictures from 8-9 months ago that I'm losing ground.

-Well, about taking castor oil orally I read some people here on this forum were having some success: not regrowth, but thicker hair. I haven't noticed much on the laxative effects lol

-Onions, I didn't have any smell problems with purple onions neither, I mean yes it could smell a bit while wet and on your hair, but after a while most of it you can't even smell it, and after washing absolutely nothing remains!

-Well peppermint and the other essential oils have overall decent evidence behind them. They are dilluted in small 1-3% concentrations and they haven't hurt me at all.
All four essential oils when I researched had some evidence behind them, for example rosemary if I recalled correctly seemed to be as good as MXD 2%.
If you purchase some, make sure it's from a good source. Not all oils extraction processes are good. Aroma zone for example is a French website with really good reviews, I purchased there and the oils were good. A little bit expensive though.

@Pigeon: Castor oil topically it's too thick, so I just put it on my scalp only when I add the more oily mixture. Not sure about carcinogenic, I haven't read anything, I will look into it.

You're really going all out. Good for you! I'm wondering if your frequency of derma rolling may be a bit much given the length of needles you're using. Whenever I did research into it I always saw to use any length greater than 0.5 mm no more than once a month. I use my 0.5 mm roller once a week and a 1.0 mm roller once a month. Also, I think you should only be using a light pressure. Just don't want you to cause extra damage.

@MrTambourine Do you find the longer derma rollers get caught in your hair? I still have a decent amount of hair with a thinning bald spot and find the 1.0 mm roller gets caught in my hair and pulls some out. I don't get this at all with the 0.5 mm. Do you use it on wet or dry hair? Thanks!

Do you wear plastic gloves when putting on the oils? I got some peppermint essential oil and thought I would test run it on my beard first (mostly for the smell) b4 I use it on my scalp. I placed like 2 drops of beard oil in my palm then like 1 or 2 drops of the peppermint n rubbed it on my beard. My whole face turned red haha I could feel blood rushing to my face n I couldnt breathe properly I was about to suffocate lol coz the peppermint was going thru my nostrils . My hands were also on fire I had to wash them over n over again in cold water! So I am thinking that it must be good for hair coz it might enhance circulation or something right? That's how it works? Though after an hour the effect was already gone so not sure, but I am thinking one would need to wear gloves or something? Or maybe I am using a very highly concentrated version.

Wow, sorry that happened to you! But essential oils are very concentrated and need to be diluted in a carrier oil (coconut, jojoba, or castor oil work well) in a roughly 2-5% solution. Peppermint oil is supposed to increase circulation, just not that intensely.

UPDATE AFTER (ALMOST) 4 MONTHS:
(for further references look in previous posts)

1-Shampoo/Conditioner
All the same

2-Oral treatments:

2.1-Amitamin Hair Plus:
I had discontinued to use it (I mentioned that in the last update) and, soon after that, I started noticing some shedding/miniaturization. That's the only thing I had removed from the treatment since last update so that might indicate that it was actually working... I've lost a bunch of hair in the last 3 weeks :(
I went back to taking the supplement, about 2 weeks ago.

2.2-Castor oil:
Have discontinued its use simply because I keep forgetting lol and because I've lost motivation.

2.3-Antoxidants/Blood flow:
Another thing that I discontinued to use at the same time as Amitamin Hair Plus!! I haven't taken any of it back, it was a pain in the *** to take all these supplements. You can take a look at what I was taking in the first messages of this thread. I think Amitamin, though, has most of what is needed, and I'm not sure the supplements were making any help.

3-Topical treatments

3.1-My serum formula

Nothing new, only I have used it less often these last 3 weeks due to some loss in motivation..

4-Derminator

Increased depth in the last 2 uses to 1.5-1.75mm, as lowering depth it might have been related with the increased shedding.

5-Massage:

Not much lately.

RESULTS

Well, basically, soon after last update, I realized my shedding hairs, which had been increasing their volume since I started my treatment, had been receading. The length from where they began being smaller (they were smaller closer to the root) was about 1cm, which equals for about 1 month of growth. So some stuff that I had removed from my treatment in the last month or maybe a little bit more, had had an impact on my hair. Also, shed increased again, along with miniaturizing of hairs. Now it's about 20 hairs when I wash my hair, still a litte bit better than when I started which was more like 30-35.

That has got me a little bit disappointed and I haven't been using so much the topical serum, not much massage or head down, not much topical onion juice (my blender broke, I have an excuse for that lol).

I mean, all in all, I have lost some motivation and feel sad not to obtain the results I wanted. I have been more than 3 months applying everything and doing the best I could, and I have experienced at the most, maintaining in this last 3-4 months, more likely a small receading. It's true that I was seeing some improvement, more vellus hairs, the terminal hairs were stronger, but that somehow changed since last month.

It could also be some seasonal thing, when it was better, and now, and really treatment not doing much either way...

I have decided, as a measure of last resort, to buy Minoxidil. I will try it. This one, expensive as f***, it'd better work!

https://hairlossdhtshampoo.com/products/ultra-strength-hair-regrowth-treatment

I am happy with their shampoo so why not give it a try to this company. If I experience bad itchiness or something bad I will quit. My original idea, and I had been tempted to this idea for a while, was of using it only after Derminator, but I think I will use it 1x day and see how it goes. I still haven't decided.

I have started to look at transplant places with good quality. In my current state of my hair, it might not be more than 2000 FU, so won't be a big deal. I think I could get it for about 5k€ in a really good quality place. In Turkey it would be like 2k€. I've seen horrendous results in Turkey lol, and the average result to me is horrendous lol
I have seen, though, good clinics, with somehow not perfect but natural enough results.

So anyway, for now, I will continue serum treatment (will add some propilene glycol or some alcoholic carrier), Derminator, oral supplement Amitamin hair plus, will give another try to oral Saw Palmetto (will quit again at the first symptom of lower libido or weaker erections), and will add minoxidil, still not sure how frequently.

Anyway, that's it after 4 months, I'm just kind of sad that putting all this effort led to nothing! At least I tried ^^

I just started my homemade "Hairmetto" oil. Since Scott Nali had such success with derma rolling, Hairmetto, and scalp massages, I figure that's the way to go for at least a year. Since I already owned many of the ingredients I bought the rest and mixed my own solution. Here's the mix I made:

Saw Palmetto (soft gel capsules which I cut open and squeezed out the oil): 800 mg (5 capsules of 160 mg)
Pumpkin seed oil: 16 ml
Lavender EO: 12 drops
Rosemary EO: 12 drops
Peppermint EO: 8 drops
Fractionated coconut oil: 2 ml

I approximated Hairmetto as best as I could with some minor modifications. I used peppermint EO instead of cedarwood EO because I didn't wanna buy another EO and already had peppermint which is good anyway. I also didn't wanna buy a big bottle of castor oil for 2 ml so I used the fractionated coconut oil instead since I had it anyway. But I think I have the most important ingredients, that being pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto. I'll update in a couple months. I also intend on making my own Hairmetto serum that is hopefully less oily, just need to get the ingredients.

Sorry it has slowed down for you, hope it picks up again but seriously your hairline looks amazing n full! So you think going less than 1.5mm is what caused the setback for u? Lately I went down to 0.7mm as I am afraid of leaving scars when I move up to 1.5mm. Can you share a pic of the state of ur scalp after a1. 5mm session? How do you keep the pen in place, mine seems to vibrate and slightly move when I hold/press it in each spot n often scratches the skin. Not sure if I should try a stamp instead.

Good luck! My only concern is it might be too oily, good quality PSO is oily as f***. It's an absolute mess!

And maybe you can add caffeine to your homemade hairmetto. It's really cheap, there is a lot of research on it, and it's absorbed pretty well.

It looks amazing... compared to a NWIII haha, it has definitely receaded in the last year, and also it has receaded a little bit in the last 4 months. And hairs overall are thinner. The first pic I updated on these thread would be amazing if yesterday's pics were the first ones and the first ones were yesterdays, if you know what I mean lol. I've lost hairs. I can't see as many vellus hairs and terminal hairs are less thick!

I don't know the reason, might be the supplements, might be derminator with less depth, might be less scalp massages/hair down, might be less time in the shower with the shampoo/conditioner in my head, might be stress too? Stress is hard to measure. I don't think stress has been worse in the last 2 months, so the only changes were less time with shampoo, Amitamin (the hair supplement) and softer dermastamp.

I could DEFINITELY notice how my shedding hairs had less volume in the last month, I could see previous to that more thickness in them.

Do you use Derminator? I don't notice any of the problems you mention. Derminator is good, try it, it's 200€ and you can use it for many years.

Not the brand Derminator per se but the same sort of pen/concept, the needles go in and out very fast even at lowest speed so it's hard to place it properly over the skin. It's a chinese pen, looks like this :) I don't think the fact that it's a knockoff is the problem, the issue I think is the needles going in and out very fast.

It is quite oily but not as bad as the castor oil mix I used before since pumpkin seed oil is thinner. I use a dropper bottle to get it in the right places so it's not too bad and I put a towel on my pillow at night so my pillow case doesn't get greasy. Not ideal but if this is what I have to do to keep my hair I'll do it. Caffeine is something I'll consider in a few months if I don't think this is working.

Well, the shipment I had ordered with some shampoos and minoxidil was stopped at customs. I imagine it could be due to European regulations as for medical products from outside the EU (it came from the US, to be honest I was a little surprised when they first allowed me to purchase it through their website). So, what should I do? I would appreciate some comments from this forum from people that have gone through the process of using minoxidil 5%.

I have been reading these days stories in the forum about sides, itchiness, feeling super tired, etc. wtf
It might not be as potentially harmful as finas, but it's still a drug, and maybe I should think twice before starting a treatment like this...

I mean I'm still not desperate, and I still have faith on the natural way, I feel that the serum I've created might not be perfect in terms of formula as I'm not an expert... for example, I have been using vit C pills instead of L-ascorbic acid (which I purchased today), and I think the vit C might have not been making any effect...
Also I still haven't decided to buy some PRP device...

Today I bought from The ordinary the peptide thing that was mentioned in this subforum (thank you) and the ascorbic acid... I feel I still have natural ways to go...

As for yesterday, I went back to Saw Palmetto oral, 1x daily, these last days I would say erections 8.5/10, libido 8.5/10, let's see in 1-2 weeks, last try I noticed some loss in libido, let's see this time how it goes!
