My New Regiem - OPINONS??

Im 22 Next Month im around a norwood 1.5 to 2 with abit of thinning in the frontal region, my crown and top area is good and hasnt ever been so thick!! just want to try and maintain my hairline and thicken it up a little
so hopefully this regeim can acheive this any opinons, advice is greatly appreciated

dutasteride Genuine Brand 0.5mg Daily
Nizoral 2-3 Times Weekly
Nano Shampoo 3-4 Times Weekly
Prox-n Every Night
minoxidil Foam morning and night
Tricomin daily

So What does everyone think of this?? have i got a good chance of maintaing and thicking my frontal region and maybe getting some regrowth?

that is a strong regime. I think you a very good chance of maintaining and even thickening up. Every one is different but you have chosen a regime that will definately get you some result. Goodluck

Personally I think you're mad to touch dutasteride at your age...it's alright the others saying "great regimen" etc...but dutasteride / finasteride and internals are STRONG drugs that imbalance hormones and potentially cause catastrophic problems with libido (especially you being so young).

If your crown is still thick I think it's well OTT to go for dutasteride now...
If I were you I'd enjoy and live your life to the full, get the 5 to 10 years natural life out of your crown...socialise, shag, drink and be merry..andworry about it in a few year's time - that's what I did and life's been great.

People obsess to the nth degree about hair - and it can be important, but not half as important as other things in life.
I wouldnt touch dutasteride and maybe try Xandrox, or 5% minoxidil and Revivogen for temples...it's filled in my temples in the last few months.
I';m still working on the crown. I'm 40 by the way and probably started losing at anbout 28 - but paid no attention to it...and I'm honestly glad I didnt..there's too many other things to enjoy and/or worry about in life.

GT, I strongly urge you not to listen to Hairy Belly. If you do listen to him, you may bald early like him. Why do nothing like he recommends when you can take dutasteride and keep your hair much longer? Stick with the strong regimen and ignore people who will tell you that dutasteride and finasteride are dangerous.

His Xandrox and Revivogen recommendations are kind of worthless in comparison to the power of finasteride or dutasteride. Xandrox is just minoxidil mixed with azelaic acid, and azelaic acid has not been proven to block DHT like its maker claims. Revivogen is also much weaker than finasteride and only works where it is applied. It's also a bigger pain than popping a pill.

He's 40 years old and he's bald , but you're only 22. You have much more of an opportunity to save your hair by maintaining it. I'm 22 as well so you should listen to me as someone who people on here told not to take dutasteride as well. But I didn't listen to them, and I'm on it, because it's the best and most powerful hair loss drug out there right now. These guys like Hairy Belly who are 40 can't relate to our situations now , going bald at our age. His comment about worrying about your crown later is foolish. The earlier you start the drugs the more hair you will keep and the longer you will keep it. It is much tougher to regrow than to keep what you have. My regimen is kinda similar to yours except I'm not on minoxidil and tricomin yet, since I don't want to bother. I might add them later. But I am on dutasteride, Nano, and nizoral just like you. I also recommend adding both 5 mg of Biotin a day and 100 mg a day of Vitamin B6 if you want to your regimen because both have been proven in studies to be beneficial for hair loss. Bryan has linked them before. If you added those two things to your already awesome regimen then it would be even better.

I also wonder if Hairy Belly has even tried either finasteride or dutasteride before he comments on them. I've tried both and they work great. So don't listen to him. Good luck.

I can tell you that advice like yours given out to people has destroyed far more temples than dutasteride could destroy in a billion years. Telling people to ignore their hair loss and just party up till they go bald is foolish advice on a hair loss site. Think about what you're saying. I'm going to go to every thread you make and every post you make , and I'm going to keep posting responses to stuff like this if you see it, so people can see that your advice and ideas are wrong.

Thanks Jayman, ive actually been on dutasteride for a year already no sides has thickened and maintained my hair just hasnt thickened the front as much as i would of hoped thats why ive now added the nano,prox-n and minoxidil to hopefully acheive this.

I definatly didnt want to wait and let nature take its cause as i no i would be pretty bald by the time im 30 and im just one of those guy who cannot pull of the shaved look at all (big head, long face) plus like jayman says im only young and want to keep my hair as long as possible as hopefully hm will be out in next 5 years and may get small fue transplant before then if i need it.

Anyway i hope things will get better with this regiem i know its kinda like the kitchen sink approach but i just definatly dont want to lose anymore hair.

Regimen looks good but personally I wouldnt bother with the prox-n since you have tricomin and minoxidil in the mix already - any more then two topicals and it really starts to become a hassle - of the 3 Prox-n has the least amount of clinical backing since tricomin went through partial FDA and minoxidil is obviously proven.

If you start getting regrowth you wont be able to attribute it to the prox-n for sure but you may be scared to drop it in case its the one thats working (when its more likely to be the minoxidil) and thus waste your money and time waiting for packages to arrive from the US

By the way I used Prox-n for 6 months and thought it was useless - just started minoxidil foam so too early to comment on that.

Start taking dutasteride now and pay the potential consequences in 10 years or so..that's all I'm saying - no-one knows, it's not been long-term tested, and it IS powerful stuff.
Don't be surprised if health problems mainly associated with women come back to haunt you because of hormone imbalances.

How can my attitude to 'party while you're young' be foolosh - I've had/having a great time. You may feel your hair is the long and short of your life (pardon the pun)
That's just my opinion of course...unless someone wants to tell me I havent had a great time!

I totally sympathise that losing hair in early 20s is a big blow...one that I never experienced.
I hope you find the best way for you that works with fewest sides. I'm getting definite regrowth from my regimen, and I'm giving it 'til Christmas too see just how much, which will be 6 to 8months with most oif the bollocks I'm throwing at it.

I think the best advice would be to ignore both jayman and hb, and go talk to a dermatologist who is actually trained to treat hairloss about it.

good regimen. I think tricomin should be used every other day. it is a growth stimulant, but not the only one. CPs can reverse fibrosis, but can do damage at a higher dose, which varies from person to person. I think you should make your own GSE/apple poly topical with water and everclear and maybe a little PG and alternate it with the tricomin.

Don't be scared to use dutasteride.

I still insist that if I had dutasteride or finasteride when I started balding I would never have gone to NW6.

For those like hairybery who does not go beyound nw2 by 40 there may not any point with any treatment as they can be happy with nw2. (I don't know his Norwood scale by the way).

Think of finasteride/dutasteride as the primary weapon if you don't want to bald beyond nw2
(It won't bring you back to NW1).

Proxiphen-N is a great addition followed by rogaine foam and tricomin IMO.

These are all fair and valid points...I dont think a dermo is particularly going to give a big insight into long-term dutasteride effects tho.

I'm about NW2 temples and Norwood 2.5 crown. If I was in my early 20s I can honestly say I still wouldnt have gone for dutasteride even tho I would have been a p*ssed off with hair loss.

I think it's fair to say it hasn't had such a profound effect on my life because I've been affected at a later age....so I do sympathise

I'll keep you posted about what goes on with me - but poster 'English' has proven that topicals can work - I'm not saying they are going to, but I dont think comments about revivogen being "useless" etc help this topic much. Revivogen oin it's own may be useless, but as part of an attack with retin A, minoxidil, lazercomb, diet, boarge oil, fish oil, melatonin/ GLA, etc etc, could be useful, and English feels it has been for him.

I am defnitely getting reults with my regimen, but we'll see after a few months. It is a hassle applying them all, but I'm quite intrigued to find if they work

dutasteride or finasteride is needed for people with aggressive male pattern baldness like me. I started it too late. I request people to not make that mistake.

But doesnt it only maintain for 5 years anyway, then back to baseline...and probably accelerated loss at that point.
I suppose buying 5 years is a long time period for many...but some have got into a vicious circle of wanting hair to attarct a woman, then having hair but no sex drive to keep the woman !
The potential for long-term and enduring finasteride/dutasteride sides scares me ...and would have scared me if I was in my early 20s ...more than losing hair.

To be honest, there is still an image association with hair loss- even at my ripe old age believe it or not )
Because of what I do, it is much better to have hair than no hair, believe me, but I'll stick with the topicals and see the results (probably in the sink!)

I agree with you that I would need hairs even in my sixties or seventies.

I have said this many times in the past. I want to see one user who shows with pictures that he balded from Norwood 1 or 2 to NW5 or 6 after being on finasteride or dutasteride.

I honestly believe that you take finasteride to stop you from moving beyond nw2 or 3. I will be happy to be proved wrong. finasteride/dutasteride will keep you from going to NW5 ot 6 even for 10 or 20 or 30 years.

I agree with tech and believe that someone at my age and the original poster's age(22) who is a NW2 or below getting on dutasteride will prevent them from ever advancing past a NW4. The drug will stop/slow the balding process that much. And i don't think people at our age on average on dutasteride will go past NW3 until we are in our fifties or sixties. By then hair cloning will fully be out and we can be NW1s again. Just buying time, buying time is what matters.

Well tech as I've said before, seeing as how finasteride has only been out for 10 years and dutasteride for 4 or 5, we won't see any people who have started out low on the Norwood scale like a 2 and gone to 5 or 6 because most people who aren't even on any drugs don't bald that fast. So although I agree with you we won't know for a couple more decades if we are right.
