My observations about this forum

Alot of people ask the question - how come people dont stick around to post their results on treatments/success? - having been a reader and ocassional poster on this site for 2 years (wow it really has been that long) Ive been reflecting on understand why this happens.

Recently Ive noticed the new wave of members come in (actually I noticed it last year too) its kind of interesting really - a new contingent of male pattern baldness sufferers enter the fray with their questions like "what is spironolactone?" "is it safe to take finasteride?" "what doseage of finasteride should I take and what is the difference between propecia and proscar?" Plus a host of other questions which I have to admit I searched on and asked when I was new to the forum myself -

I mean it as no offence to those posting these questions as they are valid ones for a newbie to ask but I find myself increasingly feeling distant to the site and that whilst I do browse the latest posts I feel no compulsion to read any of them hoping to find that new titbit of information to help me understand my male pattern baldness a bit better.

My view on why people dont come back to post - apart from the obvious (i.e. getting success from their regimen) I guess they realise the truth of the fact that in the end whilst there is alot to read about male pattern baldness we realise that in the end most of what we need to know is known.

So kudos to those veterans who stick around, read and reply to those threads about which spironolactone is best 5% or 2% and does minoxidil really only work on crown hairloss to name a few. I know Ill keep checking in to see those threads about HM - those ones still manage to brighten my day.

And after using revivogen, spironolactone, copper peptides, nano, prox-n guess what ive ended up using:

The Big 3.

good post lithebod,i agree with what ya saying,i pretty much picked up what was needed within a few reads.i keep coming back to read the surgical forum and any posts about HM as this is the route im gonna be taking.

its also nice to give a new poster the info they need ,even if they could just use the search function. :hairy:

I have not visited the finasteride or minoxidil threads in a while. I spend most of my time in the experimental sections. I can guess why someone would stick with the big 3 after trying lee's spironolactone. That is why I don't even buy the stuff. Soon I'll just be an occasional poster.

Because it's healthy to forget about your hair loss and move on. It's unhealthy if your still obsessed with hair loss after you have begun treatments. Moving on is a part of success.

I stick around because it's a little online hobby, I rarely think about my hair to be honest! The only time I realy think about my hair loss for more than a few moments is when I have to go get my proscar re-filled from my doctor.

Old member here, Its true what cassin is saying. I actually stopped taking propecia about a year ago and I haven't really notice my hairline changing for the worse. My libido is back to its normal self. I used to dread getting haircuts but now its not that big of a deal. I guess as you get older you realize that its not that important. I had some punk 19 year old kid ask me the other day in front of some girl I am interested in, "Dude what's up with your hairline?" I was caught off guard but made a joke about his mother keeps ripping it out when we have sex. Anyway, I cant wait till he starts to go bald that scumbag! Ha! Anyway, I got over it an I have been on ree dates with the girl. You need a personality, nice physique, then hair.

I'm here to help others out and get tips to treating my condition. You always learn something new everyday even if its just a small detail. I'm still young, get frustrated with hairloss but there is so much wealth of information about this topic that I'm slowly incorporating it as a hobby. Incredible. (would have never thought I would)
