My Plan

Hi All,

Background: 21 and still a full head of hair. Noticed thinning for a couple years but didn't think too much of it. Saw my brother (25 and missing majority of scalp hair) and my father (bald) and decided to fight back early.

Did tons of reading through the forums. Decided on a plan. Going to start with finasteride, add spironolactone, then finally add rogaine. Going to space out applying the three with a month or so, so I can tell if one product causes side effects over another.

Here it is:

1. Ingest .25mg finasteride Every Other Day: Reduce DHT Levels, thus reducing available androgen to bind to hair follicles and kill hairs.

2. Topical Spironolactone: Topically applied to block DHT and synergize with finasteride.

3. Rogaine: Inspire regrowth and awaken dormant hairs.

4. Fish Oil: A sh*t ton of it. Reduce inflammation.

5. Vitamin A: Reduce sebum production.

6. Dandruff Shampoo+Conditioner: Reduce inflammation and cycle with Nizoral.

7. Nizoral: Reduce inflammation and mildly block DHT.

I'd appreciate thoughts, concerns, or holes in my logic. I believe I've covered the big three things that contribute to hair loss: androgens, sebum, and inflammation. Not sure what the chain reaction is (ie. androgens increase sebum production which causes inflammation) but I definitely want to cover all three.

I suppose I'll take pictures every few weeks or something. It'll be a pain in the *** but the only way I'll know for sure if anything is working.

ALSO: If you have suggestions that would be awesome.

It's not a good plan especially if you're in the early stages.....propecia and minoxidil should be used as a last resort.. there are natural alternatives that can preserve your hair with no side effects....ingesting all these vitamins will do nothing for your hair loss. You need to go directly at the source

It's a very good plan, I wish my plan was like that when I first started receding.

Great plan, started ASAP. You don't want to get to the point where you're trying to regrow hair do you? Instead keep the hair you have/slow down your hair loss.

Natural alternatives? What are you talking about? Everything natural that I've read about is either mildly effective or just plain not effective.

It sounds like a good plan if you can be bothered. Don't know how effective the 0.25 of finasteride EOD would be. Maybe take some Saw Palmetto with it?

Then you haven't read enough. There are natural ingredients out there that have been proven to be more effective than synthetic ingredients.
