My regime

My hairloss isn't too bad at the moment, but my hair has slowly been getting thinner over the last two years.
I'm currently just starting a regime!

I'm going to be using Finpecia and propecia alternating between the two(to make it slightly cheaper), Rogaine and nizoral.

My question is, could i get away with using the 5% rogaine just at night doubling the dousage. Theres no way i can use it in the morning, its way too greasy. Do you reckon this will at least have some impact

I've only ever used it once a day (at night) and done okay...i don't think i've done any worse than guys who use it twice a day - first year or so i got some good regrowth with once a day minoxidil & propecia, then maintained for a year or so, maybe slight downturn for the last 9 months or so but i've heard that commonly from guys who use it twice a day anyway.

Personally i use about 8ml minoxidil per night overall, 6 nights a week...little unorthadox i know and i wouldnt advocate it but see how you get on just starting out with a couple of ml once a day at night.

When I first started minoxidil almost 2 years ago, I used 1 ml on my entire top, meaning from front to back, with the bulk going on to the Vertex. I have had slow but good progress.

Then it occured to me that the instructions were referring to the Vertex not the entire scalp since that is what it is advertized to treat. However it is known that it does have some effect for certain people on other areas of the scap. I have been one of those people. I will have to say the Vertex has benefited the most.

I now use 1-1/2 ml per application (3 mls a day), that may be a waste but I use the generic minoxidil from Sam's Club. So from a monetary stand point I consider it good insurance to possibly waste some and get complete coverage.

I use minoxidil on my crown and on the hairline. Basically, all over. I use 2 mL in the morning and 2 more at night for a total of 4 mL.

That being said, I still think that 8 may be something of a waste.

8 mL in two applications would absolutely drench the hair and scalp. Of course if we massage the minoxidil in some part of it is on our hands and some is left on the hair and not the scalp.

Maybe we should kick off a "How Much minoxidil Do You Apply" survey. It should be interesting to find out what others are doing.
