My sides were pretty much immediate and then I came off it altogether. I wasn't aware they can start out fine and build up over time. Mind me asking what happened after a few years on Propecia for you?

@Wanheda

Yes, many people on the forum also experienced it - the sides built up over time. In my case, i think its cos i started taking saw palmetto together with the propecia that made things worse.

My symptoms were - watery semen, very small amount of ejaculate, significant loss of sex drive, no morning erections or random erections, and inability to hold an erection.

You can follow my thread (https://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/intera...erm-use-please-share-your-experiences.103020/) where i have described my condition in detail and am providing regular updates on my progress.

Noone is the same. I used finasteride for around 6 months, this was some years ago. The painful balls was only the first few days after starting, no creeping up sides, no ED or reduced libido. Nothing good or bad happened when i quit finasteride except that the few regrown hairs disappeared of course.
Thanks for clarifying, true yes it depends on each individual and I guess how long they take it for aswell. OP was on it for 9 years perhaps that's why but then the next person could do 20 years without any sides, hmm it's like a lottery sometimes I swear :/

I read a lot about Finasteride causing androgen blocking - to be honest it can't happen profoundly enough.

Finasteride is used by male-to-female transexuals to feminise themselves before endocrine therapy begins in earnest - growth of hair on the head is a welcome side effect, but in my case I will always need a wig.

Being a transexual I can sympathise with men who lose their hair, because my hair used to be my identity also.

In my case finasteride is part of the struggle to be female - which is why it
But is it always working for m2f ts? It can have masculine sude effects too. On finasteride i didnt notice anything but now on dutasteride, yes something is definitively happening, my body is fighting the dutasteride by producing more testosterone in an attempt to have some of it convert to dht. My muscle definition in some areas has significantly increased, and trapezius and undersides of forearms has grown noticeably, some muscles hardened too - esp in high density testosterone receptor areas like shoulders, plus lean mass increase with a nice reduction of waisteline. Improvement in BMI has been found in dutasteride studies and didnt come as a surprise. My skin is softer and "nicer" though, that could be due to aromatase activity, i recon you know much more about that, you think thats a feminization side due to aromatase?
