My temples - opinions?

Hello everybody

I had been lurking behind for some time reading your posts and finally decided to ask a few questions.

I have always had thick hair and as you can see from the 1st pic below (taken yesterday), I don't have any problems with my top but I feel like my corners are receding.

I saw a dermatologist yesterday. She didn't take my question that seriously, just looks at some hair roots with a special camera and told me that my hair roots seem strong. That's all.

I took some photos. Pics 2 and 3 are the current situation. 4 is old. 5 is recent too.

Oh, by the way I'm 30 and always had a high hairline. I'm not posting this to make people who are balder than me angry. Believe me I also have other problems like being extremely shirt sighted etc - so there is nothing to be jealous of.

Thank you.

Your not balding, your dermatoligist probably was examining your hair for miniturization, if she didn't see it under the microscope you have nothing to worry about, thats simply a mature hairline which is differnt then male pattern baldness.

Thank you for your comment. Would it make a difference if I use what you calll as big 3 for my corners?

How can you be so sure about this?

rapt, do you have anyx case of male pattern baldness in your family?
Well he said that he got a minaturization study done buy a dermatoligist, and that she claimed he had no signs of male pattern baldness.

Well she didn't really say that. She had a camera that shows close-up images on the screen and she looked at some random places and told me that my hair roots seem strong. That's all.

I'm asking you this again, rapt.

I never saw my grandfather but my father's hair started getting thinner at the age of 55 and my older brother's hair is just like my hair right now.

Thank you for your opinions guys. I'll go to a hair centre on the weekend for a proper analysis.

A 'hair centre' won't give you a proper analysis. They'll tell you whatever so they can get your money.

Your hair is fine. You have a mature hairline, but you're also 30. Keep a set of pictures. If your hairline has moved back further by next year, then come back and consider some drugs.

Wouldn't that be better to have my hair checked and be proactive rather than reactive?

If you're go to any kind of hair clinic, they will tell you that you're balding and that you better take care of it right away, then they'll drop a menu of treatments in front of you and recommend their premium package.

You are not losing your hair. Don't waste time/money/energy on 3cm of recession.

And some of us...maybe even our right.

Don't go to any "centers" for hair loss...they'll give you rogaine foam with a different label on it and tell you it's $50 for one bottle...

If you still go, then see what they tell you but DON'T buy anything from them. Say you need some time to think before going on lifelong meds.
