N00b needs advice on prescription costs

Hi Everyone,
first of all this has been a great consolation to see similar worries as myself being posted, great community.

I have been prescribed Finasteride after personally requesting from my doctor, however the pharmacy charges $80.00 for 30 tablets@1mg. Its breaking the bank at the moment, particularly as I am unemployed.

I guess the question is, should I buy meds generic based or does a Proscar prescription cost less?

I am not sure what the board rules are on links, but I am in the US so any trustworthy sites for meds including which one you have used successfully would be great.

You won't get it cheaper than generic proscar. You'll find some sites if you search on this board. I recommend assetchemist.co.uk/hwprescriptionservice.com, but as you live in US, and they're located in UK, you would probably want to use another store.

Go back and ask your quack if you can get proscar instead, like said, it is dead cheap compared to name-brand finasteride. If you also plan to use minoxidil, go online order kirkland's version, dead cheap too.

I'm going to my Dermatologist next week and I think I'm going to ask him if he will prescribe me proscar.

You guys that use proscar, do you chop it up into thirds or something? I've always read posters talking about it but never really payed enough attention.

I think I should sound like I know what I'm talking about though when I ask so he doesn't decline me!

Thanks guys! I knew something didn't feel right as the pharmacist was all too eager to accept my prescription.

I had my consultation with Dr. Lee and now will add Xandrox 15% and minoxidil 6%-PLUS. I am end of month 2 on Propecia and lately have been having some shedding.

In the shower I am quick to throw my hands under the water after adding Nizoral so I don't start hair counting. I know you need to stick with it, but its so hard when you start seeing those hairs.

Will make it in tomorrow and ask for Proscar 5mg.

Cutting them into 4 pieces will do, but it's kind of hard in the beginning, because they're oval and drop shaped. I'm currently cutting proscar pills myself, but I'll probably go back to propecia the next time. I've some concerns regarding dose and handling.
