Nah, it's not working after all

I've been using rogaine foam for over a year now. At some point I thought it was actually doing something but well, I am thinning more and more all the time. It isn't working. finasteride did work for me in a way by causing sexual dysfunction and growing me a nice pair of breasts but for hair it did f*** all. So I guess this is the time to just accept that I'm going bald. I'll re-evaluate my situation in coming weeks and probably will stop using foam after I've finished my current can. Then I'll just buzz to #0 and try to accept my bad headshape and continue living. At least I got my act together just enough that I'll most definitely graduate in the coming fall. At least that's something.

But just waiting to go bald is silly. Other alternative treatments could work for u!


Even a lasercomb! I had one of them. I dont think they work, (at least not on me) but it could do wonders for u, who knows.

My advice: Give Minoxidil with retin-a a shot. With that add Nizoral 2% and a good copper peptide treatment (Folligen, Tricomin) and if you have the cash, a topical AA like Fluridil or spironolactone.

GHG is not giving up,he is just stating a fact that none of these treatments help at all for him.
He has tried both finasteride and minoxidil ,none has helped ,if i was him i would give dutasteride a go but if he is anything like me then that is unlikely to work

these studies that they do for minoxidil and finasteride are a joke because if you beleived them then you would have 4/5 chance of at least maintaining your hair,now i know that is no where near the
total,i think it is about 50/50 at best

IBM: of course it's possible that foam has actually slowed my balding down but I think it's highly unlikely. My twin brother who's balding just like I am has not used any of the current treatments and he has about the same amount of hair left than me.

JWM: My scalp is extra-sensitive and I have seb. dermatitis so adding more harsh topicals doesn't sound like a good idea. When I last tried liquid minoxidil my scalp felt like on fire. Nizoral is also not for me, I've found another seb. dermatitis shampoo much better for me. My scalp isn't very bad atm, but I'm having good and bad phases with it.

antonio666 is right, I'm not giving up on life or anything. I just stated that it seems highly unlikely that I could even stop my hairloss from progressing.

ghg fair play to you mate. You gave it a good shot. I'm at the last chance saloon with flutagel and nanominox-fms. Its got 6-9 months to see if any improvement, if not then im done and i know i tried all that was feasible.

personally im just gonna keep trying. i plan on getting a hair transplant so im gonna need to keep trying treatments. maybe im just a mug i feel like one at times. i started revivogen a couple of weeks ago and it hasnt irritated my scalp. probably because most of it goes in my hair though like.

I buzzed to "3" setting on my clipper (I have no idea how short it is but it's the shortest setting, only way to get shorter is to do a #0 with the blade only). It could be 3mm? Anyway, I buzzed last sunday. EDIT: According to the manual it should be 3mm.

My hair looks about as thin on top as yours if not more when buzzed down like that..but i've grown it out and u can't even really tell. The crown is pretty thin in the back...i use toppik on that..and right now the average person probably wouldn't even guess that I am losing hair. If you do decide to shave it with no guard..props to you..your head shape really doesn't look that bad at all and you have a pretty decent hairline so you should be able to pull it off pretty well. I would imagine it would take loads of stress off too. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Honestly...it doesn't look bad at all.
My hair is worst then yours and I would be happy to keep the current state.

Lately I speak to my self "Hello baldy!" or "hmmm..look at that shiny bald head"....so one day when I get completly bald I'm already prepared to hear plp commenting my baldness and making jokes about it. :mrgreen:

Toppik doesnt work on blondes anyway. Only works on brown/black hair.
