Hi Guys!

To explain my problem in short. I am not losing hair at all but I have naturally very light weight wavy hair and quantity is little below normal. Every time I visit a salon for haircut they ask me I am losing hair and I must be careful etc or else I will be bald within next 6 months. well I am hearing this from past 15 years or more but yet my hairline is as it is proving that my hair are just naturally like this! which is actually a problem when I think of having thick easy to manage and lots of hair!

I am thinking to try following in combination
1. Derma Roller 1MM + Minoxidil 5% (roller thrice a week and Mino once a day before sleeping)
2. and buy a laser comb as well

Will this be of any good to increase the quantity of my hair? Or Minoxidil is only for those that are losing their hair to REGROW or getting bald patterns (which is not my current problem)

Another question is that if I start to use Minoxidil and for example it gives me good result but after 6 months or so I want to stop it. Will I be dependent on it? or after stopping risk of losing my own natural hair too?

I am 30, and you can suggest me any other home therapy too.

Thanks in advance.

I'd imagine if your not losing any hair then minoxidil probably won't do anything for your "naturally" thin hair.

So for those people that have naturally low volume of hair there is no way other than transplantation to grow new hair/follicle /roots to increase the volume?

I think it may help a bit. I know a girl in the past who used it to thicken her hair, she wasn't losing any. Said it gave her thickness and shine. Entirely plausible. In fact I think age related hair thinness can be combated to an extent with minoxidil.

For me its no problem trying it for few months but what is stopping me yet is what will happen after I will stop the treatment? I just hope I will not lose my current volume of hair too later after discontinued!

Here is a scary line from wikipedia in "Application" section
""Therefore, when treatment is stopped, the DHT has its expected effect of shrinking and ultimately destroying the genetically predisposed hair follicles""
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minoxidil

What the is the meaning of that?!!!!
