The sides are real..I'm not acquainted with mews personal experience but there are lots of people out there who say things never returned to normal, obviously some of it is psychological but I don't believe all of it is.
Some People clearly would prefer not knowing just how lethal it can be, since for the majority their still going to take it, and unless burned will be happy to not know just what is going on inside their bodies.

In the end it only truly effects those stuck with the side effects, and they are not the majority, thus the opinion isn't catered to, Everyones system is different though and you can find a proponent for just about every theory and reported experience.

Hijacking the thread here maybe, but what would you guys say about "The Pill" vs Finasteride. I mean, chicks litterally die from taking the pill, even though thats not comon.

Other more minor stuff are more freqvent however. Modeswings, depressions... I had a girl that coudnt have sex thanks to some kind of infection caused by it. I guess most girls are affected in some way, atleast before they get used to it. Lack of lust is also pretty normal.

Mew or any other; what would say is the most evil here? The "minority dies" or "minority goes irreversebly impotent"? Im not being biased here, im curious.

Should be noted however, just like Mew and more people are very anti-finasteride, there´s another crowd anti-the pill that woudnt touch that stuff with a stick. A few years ago I had a girlfriend where her parents tried to forbid here taking them as it "might just kill you".

About 40% of women who take birth-control pills will have side effects of one kind or another during the first three months of use. The vast majority of women have only minor, transient side effects.
Somehow feels like a fare comparisson.

Tyler,

I have been on finasteride/propecia for 8 weeks. My sex drive is great and my hair is looking a little better, less sheds and a little thicker. Here's what my 3 years of research and experience has proved after reading all the dickless horror stories.

1) You can get great results on 1 pill every other day, some say 1/2 mg e.o.d. It takes your body up to 2-3 days to produce enough AR enzyme
to cause more dht problems - Merck doesn't tell you this because they don't want to cut their sales in half or 1/4 - but by taking every other day and less dosage, your body will balance it's hormonal axis a lot easier. Most guys have been overdosing on finasteride in hopes of growing more hair. The initial drug Finasteride was only supposed to be taken 3x per week for prostate enlargement.

2) You NEED to take a zinc supplement/vitamin b6 to prevent your now higher levels of testosterone from aromatising into estrogen/dht. Zinc/b6 are deficcient in most active males. Zinc is prevelant in semen so the more you squirt - the more zinc your body needs.

3) Take green tea extract which is a great hormone balancer and also consider using progesterone cream which is beginning to be recognized in the medical community for reversing estrogen dominance in men.

Do some research but make sure you take the daily recommended zinc supplements and only take propecia every other day - don't over due it!

Good Luck!

I took finasteride for 2 1/2 weeks. My breast starting hurting, I was sleeping about 10-11 hours a day, and squirting lemonade. That was enough for me to know that sh*! is bad news. The only reason I took it was to possibly speed up regrowth/curve shedding from my last hair transplant. I can wait 12 months instead of 10 and stay male.

Estrogen is stored in body fat - so the less fat a man has, the less likely he will store estrogen. Estrogen is also broken down and metabolized by the liver. If people eat a lot of fatty foods, don't exercise and drink excessive alcohol while on propecia, hello b**ch tits.

If people are taking propecia and not addressing the body breaking down testosterone into estrogen, then they will def have side effects.

Since taking propecia every other day - I have been working out, taking zinc/b6, green tea and progesterone cream - which makes me want to bang anything in sight. My chest is still hard, no gyno.

Since doctors don't bother or care - guys have to take the extra step.

15-25 mg/day

Getting enough zinc can work wonders in numerous health conditions. Zinc activates white blood cells to fight infections. It helps protect the body against viruses. Men need zinc for sperm production and to keep the prostate gland healthy. Zinc helps the pancreas make insulin and keep normal sugar levels.

Zinc is essential for good memory. Zinc supplements even help teenagers get better grades in school.

How important is zinc? Zinc is present in every cell in the body. It is a component of over 200 enzymes. There are high amounts of zinc in red blood cells, white blood cells, your bones, kidneys, liver, pancreas, and retina. Men have high concentrations of zinc in the prostate gland. Every cell in the body needs zinc to divide and replace itself when the body makes new tissues.

Here are two lists. One is a list of conditions that can occur when the body does not get enough zinc. The second is a list of conditions that improve due to the benefits of zinc supplements.

Not getting enough zinc can chronic fatigue, dermatitis, diarrhea, hypothyroidism, female infertility, impaired platelet aggregation, insulin resistance, and loss of taste or smell. It can cause reduced resistance to infection, night blindness, poor appetite, poor memory, attention deficit disorder, and reduced learning ability, and it can cause slower growth in children, slow healing of wounds, and infertility in men. Add to this list Acrodermatitis enteropathica, Alopecia, atrophy of the testes, bone loss and osteoporosis, decreased sperm count, decreased sperm motility, delayed puberty, nerve cell problems in Alzheimer's disease and Down's syndrome, and ringing in the ears.

Among the benefits of zinc supplement is improved immune function. Other benefits of zinc supplements are adding calcium to bones and teeth, lowering blood sugars, helping interferon work in treating hepatitis C, clearing up bacterial prostatitis, and recharging the male sex drive. They can help recovery in brain injury, improve brain function, restore night vision, increase sperm count, and stimulate the libido.

Extra zinc can help bring out weight gain in anorexia nervosa and help children with sickle cell disease. It can even cure bad breath.

Who needs the benefits of zinc supplements? You might be surprised. The United Nations University found that 20% of people worldwide are deficient in zinc. Zinc in supplements is needed to prevent childhood infections and diarrhea and to support normal growth and development.

Think you're safe if you eat a good diet? Think again. Scores of modern medications deplete the body's stores of zinc. Any women who takes the Pill or hormone replacement therapy or medication to prevent osteoporosis is at risk for nutritional deficiency and may need zinc supplements. Heart patients, diabetics, and epileptics also need zinc supplements.

Even some supplements increase the body's need for zinc. Calcium supplements, magnesium supplements, and whey all can interfere with the absorption of zinc. Never take zinc at the same time you take these supplements, and always be sure you are getting enough of the benefits of zinc supplements if you take any supplements for bone health or muscle health.

What about side effects of zinc supplements?

If you take too much zinc, your body will have difficulty absorbing copper. It's OK to take up to 20 mg every 2 hours for as long as 2 weeks to fight a cold, but for everyday nutrition limit your intake to 15 mg a day. Zinc supplements can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but only if you take about a gram--over 60 times the recommended dose.

How can you tell if you are taking too much zinc?

Here is a simple test. Overdoses of zinc numb your taste buds to bitter flavor and metallic aftertastes. Zinc has a metallic taste. If you can't taste zinc, you don't need to take it! The benefits of zinc supplements are yours with just a small, regular dose.

I think most people need to realize that 1mg of finasteride per day is too much. All of the complaints of side effects - what do you think the first thing a doctor would do if you complained about sides with any drug? that's right - cut back on the dosage. I preferr .5 mg every other day. but we are on the same page.

Micro Man very good info there.

My personal experience so far with propecia has not been a very good one as well. I started taking it about a week ago ( .5mg ) and have noticed a drastic decrease in sex drive. It seems i cant get an erection easily or when i do maintain it for more than a couple of minutes.
My GF knows the sides effects and so do i, so im not gonna panic yet and am gonna stick to it for at least a few months.

As it's been stated, That really doesn't make much of a difference, you have to cut down the amount of propecia to basically a non existent amount if you want to make a difference on your system.

It's very potent, half a pill is the same as a full one, as is a quarter of one.

and the body takes 48-72 hours to start producing dht after taking propecia, so taking it every day and loading up your body with estrogen is a problem if you like getting erections...
