Hi

I have not posted much on this forum but trust me, i have read almost all posts on this site!

My story:

Last september i noticed that my temples started to receed and my scalp was so itchy and inflamated, i could hardly ware a baseball cap for more then a couple of hours
until my scalp was red like
a chrismas tree. I went to my local doctor about this and he didn´t see anything wrong with my scalp. He took some blood test on me, but they all came out negative. A
month or two went by and my itchy scalp did not get better! under this time i tried almost every shampoo money can buy, then i disided to go on propecia and se if that
could settle my scalp problem.
After about 3 month on propecia, my scalp problem did not go away nore did my temple reccession. Then i desided to go to an dermatolyghist, He looked at my scalp and c
ame to the conclution that i was soffering from follicle inflamations. He prescribed me some antibiotics that i would take twice a day. The antiboitics is called Tetra
lysal and the active engridiens is Lymecycline.

Now i am almost 6 month in to propecia and 3 month taking Tetralysal, And i feel like sh*t!
i cant believe how much hair i have lost just over these 6 month. my temples is totaly gone and my front is very narrow, on top of that have i been thinning all over m
y scalp!
I have also get trouble with my seburm production, i have to wash my hair every day and my forehead several times a day to get rid of all the seburm:(

I hope i look good with a shaved head, havent tried it yet. The trouble is that i have just started a new job and in my line of work i have to look representable, and
with all that seburm production my head will look like i big shiny lamp

I really dont know what to do!

Please

i think we have something other than male pattern baldness going on to be honest

i'm even thinning in my back and sides in the 'safe-zone'

what the hell can we do

Sounds like you should see the derm again if the antibiotics he gave you arent working.

For inflammation you could try something like Inflammil.

Thanx for replying

mevsdht: Sorry to hear that you have the same shitty disorder :( , I'm soon to be 25. Are you on propecia to?

global: I have been to a derm for checkup, The antibiotics do help for those red spots but i 'm fighting other problems. The scalp pain is not totaly gone. Sometimes it feels like i have a
hat on when i dont, and there is that damn seburm produktion associated with some kind of sandcorns on my head! Before taking this meds both my scalp and forehead was dry.
Can it be that my hormones is totaly of balance?

Hi there.

Sorry to hear your situation. You are writing you tried many shampoos... Did you try tee tree oil based shapoo?? If not I highly recommend it and its conditioner, that you should leave on for a few minutes before rinsing. Also, I don't know why this dermatologist didn't perscribe you with anti inflammatorues such as topical solution of steroids such as betnovate or dermovate for scalp....
Try the tee tree shampoo AND conditioner and if that doesn't help go back to the doctor and ask him for topical steroids. They work like a magic

It could be seb derm. Have you tried T/Gel or Nizoral?

Or, perhaps some hydrocortisone cream might help with it?
