I am 24, and have started to notice hair in my hands in the shower (usually around 20), and when every i run my hand through my hair or scratch my head hair falls out..... I have always had a thick head of hair, and i still have a thick head of hair.. BUT i am starting to see my templets thin not bad but i can see it (even though no one else says they can).... anyways i know the quicker i deal with this, the better my results will be.. I currently started using Nizoral 1% shampoo, taking supplements such as flaxseed iol, brewers yeast, saw palmento (i know its not good, but oh well cant hurt to add it in there.... can it?), drinking green tea..... and i ordered some generic Finasteride named Fincar from Ciplia (can anyone tell me if that stuff is legit??) anyways, i am pretty sure that i am in the early early stages of male pattern baldness, ... if you were me would you start taking Finasteride??? What would you do in my shoes???

fincar is legit. I take it and I think it is starting to work. You are very lucky you caught it so early.

I think you should go see a derm before you do anything, rather than ordering drugs off the internet that mess with your hormones. This drugs is by prescription in certain countries for a reason.

Go see your GP, or a Derm before you do anything.

The Nizoral is a good start though!

I am going to go to the Dermatologist..... I just ordered the stuff because it was so cheap, ($30 for 30 5g of finasteride).... and i figured i would be told to get on it anyways (Finasteride seems to be the best and most logical choice)... i am just hoping it all works out... Another question i have is.... since i still have a full head of hair and am the very early stages of male pattern baldness... would any shed i have due to taking Finasteride be less, more, or about equal??? i dont know if this question can be answered, but doesnt hurt to ask and see if anyone with knowledge on the subject can chime in... Thanks

Any shedding from finasteride will be tellegen hairs being pushed out quicker...hairs you would have lost sooner or later anyways.

I wouldnt bother seeing a GP or Derm. Waste of time. Fincar is legit, just make sure you split it into 5ths. Nizoral is a good start - have you considered the 2% strength stuff?

Anyone know why in the US Nizoral 2% is prescription only, but in the UK it is OTC?

I have some insurance that covers some prescriptions. Nizoral is thankfully covered-- it costs me only $8. I believe it costs something like $24 without it, but that is just my bad memory speaking.

I think theres a big conspiracy against hairloss sufferers in the UK. We cant get Propecia OR Nizoral on the NHS. Lousy government.
