hey man, good to see you have chosen to do something bout it,first of all judging by those pics, your hair is still in good shape and can be treated, question is wether your ready to give this your all, because there will be times where you are gona feel like giving up,as for the minoxidil question,i do feel that it will help you out,and i dont have to be worried about it messing your hair up even more, the worst that can happen is that you stop using the treatment, and it goes back to how it was.

Re: need advice **with pics**

hey dude, i suggest you look into propecia (to stop further hairloss), Minoxidil to help with regrowth, and nizoral shampoo. Have a read about them. Your hair is still in good condition, you are lucky you caught your problem early.

By the way saw palmetto is a waste of time and money. It could be usefuly for a healthy prostate, but wont help your hair at all

since the last time i've been here
i've tried and still tring to do something about my loss
please tell me if u see some change for good or bad in the pics below

i use kirkland minoxidil 5% 0.25ml (front only) x2 day and night
retin-a 0.025% 5 min before minoxidil at night - every day
saw pallmetto 320mg x1 every day
and nizoral 2% - twice a week
those are my "big 3"
i though to replace SP with 0.25mg finasteride do you think it's a good idea?
this is me before any treatment

are you thinking 0.25 cos of potential sides? id start with the 1mg and
cross that bridge when you came to it personally. its very unlikely you
will get any.

Avi21:

Your regimen seems to be working. But it's a bit hard to tell judging from your new pics (mainly because they are small I guess). Plus, each pic you show, your hair is at a different angle. So both of those things make it a bit confusing. The 5th month mark seems to be a bit better though. I'd suggest switching from the Kirkland minoxidil to the Rogaine Foam. The foam version is more effective and far less messy and dries way faster. Some people here complain about shedding, but I'd suggest trying it.

I see some slight improvement, not very bad since you are only using the "light version" of the Big 3. I think you should add Finasteride and drop the Saw Palmetto. My suggestion would be to start off with 1mg, but this is up to you. Good Luck, mate!

That cant be right.....If it is, does that mean that proscar would have to be cut into 25 pieces!? I havnt heard of anyone doing that

I also read somewhere that .25mg was 80% as effective as 1mg but chose to stick to the recomended dosage as the mild sides I experienced pretty much subsided and I want to get as much as I can out of the treatment.

The difference between 0.2 and 1 mg finasteride
is almost the same as the difference between
Propecia (1 mg finasteride) and Avodart (0.5 mg dutasteride).

a 1-inch circle, increased by about 96 hairs with 0.5mg dutasteride (after six months).
a 1-inch circle, increased by about 77 hairs with 1mg Finasteride,
and 61 hairs with 0.2mg Finasteride.

Definate improvement

Mate there is definately an improvement at the 5th month mark. Your hairline is returning. Over the next 6 months you will probably see that fill in quite nicely. You should get onto finasteride though. If you don't than the minoxidil is really going to struggle to keep that regrowth going.

Wow your hair looks alot loke mine. Is your loss diffuse or are you keeping density and just receding. I notice I have the same black wispy short hairs along my hairline. I hate them. I think the finasteride may be slowly blending them back in. Either that or me density is getting worst so it not as apparent. Anyways you gotta try finasteride its really the only proven thing along with minoxidil. Dont wast any time trust me.
