Hey everyone,
I'm 22. A student. For the past 3 years I've had excessive shedding. I used to have a ton of hair and still have a decent amount but now the scalp is starting to show. I want to get control over my hairloss. Hair in my opinion isn't just important in dating, but also in life, for employment. My dad is bald so I know I'm headed that way if I do nothing about it.

Also I'm already at a disadvantage cuz I have a short stature, and I don't wanna add another crap thing to my list shortcomings in life.

I used to have pretty good hair actually. Actually my hair was what I was always complimented on when I was younger. I started taking Hep C treatment when I was 17 and my hair I noticed changed it's form. I also had some minimal hair loss.

The thing though is that I'm scared shitless of the this propecia drug. I definitely don't wanna have any dick shrinkage down there since I'm already average in that department. I do have a pretty wild sexual drive though. I can go at it 5-6 times a day and still wake up in the morning with a hard on. I don't wanna turn into an old asexual woman with enlarged breasts and barely functioning penis. I wanna know how people taking this drug are coping with the side effects

If anyone can suggest a particular regimen, products or anything I'll appreciate it. I'm ready to commit myself to it as long as it doesn't affect the quality the life that I already have.

lol, sexual sides are rare and minimal. Don't take any notice of that sh*t. Get straight on the finasteride if your worried about your hair. You'll be unlucky if you get any sides, and if you do, they're usually gone within a few weeks once your body adjusts to the drug.
The sooner you start, the better...

Peace

I kind of think a lot of people who complain about the sexual thing couldn't get it up in the first place or would have had decreased libido for other reasons than the finasteride . Not to generalize of course, there are probably some people reacting to it negatively. But I did read that even within the control group taking placebo 2% of the people reported sexual side effects.

I think it help grow your dick actually. Increased testosterone in the bloodstream will increase you size. At least it did for me.

You will know if it increases you sex drive or decreases it but don't think about it until 60 days later before you decide if you body handled it well.

Today i forgot to take my Propecia and it's not good for me because my body is stable on it so not taking it throws me out of wack.

Start on 1mg and if you get sides and they are too high then ride it out as long as you can and drop the dose.

I got an increased libido which is apparently more common if you are older as I am. I did suffer heavily from Brain fog/tiredness.

Finally after 3 months I am on 0.25mg and things are better from a sides perspecitive..no hairloss slowdown unfortunately but I keep hoping. ).25Mg is still around 70% effective as 1mg. If you are really paranoid then start on 0.25mg and increase later.

Hey

don't pay too much attention to the scare stories, people with hair loss are crazy anyway ;p

I was worried too. Been on Propecia 2 months and initially had *increased* sex drive (I almost couldn't cope with that, extremely horny 24hrs a day haha) but now it has gone back down to what it was before I started (normal!). Oh and I'm 26.

I went ahead and ordered finasteride a couple months ago. I didn't consult a doctor(I am planning to eventually). And I haven't noticed any sides after being on it for a little over a month. What I don't get is people will load up their scalp twice a day with minoxidil/Rogaine but are fearful of popping a little pill every day that actually slows down/stops hair loss. It's a no brainer in my book.

Also, from what I have read, even if there are sexual side-effects, they don't last forever, just a shor duration.

I made an appointment with a dermatologist today I'll see her in a week. Should I just ask for a DHD reducing drug straight up? Those of you in the U.S., what's your experience? Will they usually prescribe it if you ask them?

Also to be sure I made exact measurements of my buddy down there so I can compare before and after. I'm pretty sure though, if I don't take the drug penis might end up with more hair than my head a year's time.
