So I'm 6 months after the transplant and while my midscalp/crown are thin I still have some hair to blend in and my front is thick and full. As most of you already know it transformed my look and changed my life.
Today I had a 6 month postop checkup and my Doctor recommended me to start taking finasteride for maintenance and probably even thickening/regrowth.. I'm scared of side effects because I took it for 3 weeks a few years ago and had watery sperm + some weird abnormal feeling when I ejaculated.
He also said I have enough donor for another transplant, but if I don't take finasteride my midscalp will eventually bald and I'll find myself with hair on the front and crown with nothing inbetween and I'll come back to him for another transplant which for some reason he prefers to avoid and doesn't want to operate on me again.
So what do I do from here? While I'm scared of PFS I think the risk is worth it because if I go bald again then it'll be over for good with women.
