I have been looking on this board for quite sometimes, and now I would like some opinions on what I should do. First, I'm 25 years old and have been on finasteride for a little more than 2 years. I believe that I have continued to recede, but at a very slow pace. (I compare my loss of the last 2 years to be almost the same as the lost of the last month before I was on Propecia.)

I know my hair isn't that bad, but it still bothers me a lot. I would like to change the situation. I've tried Rogaine Foam for quite some times, (I actually use it right now), but with barely noticeable results. I will be graduating from university in May and will start to work in a big financial firm. I'm starting to think that maybe having a hair transplant right now, (I will have one any way some time in the future), before I start working so that nobody will know I had something done would be a good idea. That is why I need some opinions from you guys. Is that stupid? I would like to know too if it is possible to get a transplant in zones where my hair has yet to be affected by male pattern baldness. If I did that,(having hair tranplanted farther into my hairline) I believe I could easily with a good transplant be good for at least till I'm 35. I would not mind having other procedures in the future because, first money is not a big issue, and my hair is very important for me.

And also, how many grafts would be needed to achieve my goals. I have absolutely no idea. 1000? 2000?.

thank you

What it is that it's so bad about a hair transplant? I mean, I really believe that I do have male pattern baldness (And the fact that my hairloss slowed way down after I took finasteride is a good sign). It is just not that bad yet. Obviously, after 2 years, I know that I will not regrow anything with finasteride and I'm not please with the way my hair looks right now.

Aside of the fact that I will probably need other hair transplant in the future, what will be the others down side of a hair transplant if I choose carefully my surgeon?

I post a pic of my hair 3 years ago, maybe 8 months before finasteride. Now, most of the time, I can't even comb my hair with hair in front spike because it shows my recession too much. I have to comb it forward. It does not look that great.

PS sorry if the english is poor, it is not my first language

I would have to question the ethics of any doctor willing to perform hair transplant surgery on you.

If you got a hair transplant, you'd look like a freak.

Your hairline isn't a perfectly straight line all the way across, but it's pretty damn close. And for you, it's your natural hairline - not at all affected by male pattern baldness (which you don't have). No thinning, no recession.

Good point - but Armani would probably recommend 3000 grafts.

I don't think you need to have a hair transplant right now.

You have excellent hair. You have no recession in the front, and your hair is very thick.

I think you should be very happy with your hair.

I don't understand based on what a dermatologist put you on Finasteride. How is your vertex? Your hair line is not receding, of course it's not like your juvenille hair line, most people don't keep their juvenille hair line and it doesn't mean they are balding.

No doctor would give you a hair transplant, except maybe a very unethical doctor and a straight hairline wouldn't suit you and it would make you look ridiculous.

Doctors would really prescribe Propecia to anyone.
