I haven't ordered my Proxiphen yet, but the cream now concerns me as I'm guessing it won't even come close to covering my thinning areas.

Oh, phooey. The stuff is really thin. If you have the patience and take the time to do it, you can really spread it out. But again, don't worry about hitting every little part of your scalp.

Does Dr.P also sell liquid Proxiphen ?

Yes, but after you place your order, you have to email him and request the liquid form. Reference your order number in the email.

So you use liquid proxiphen then? YOu apply it twice a day then?

Its weaker than the cream, even when applied twice a day.

I use it once a day, right before going to bed. I spread about 1 ml of the liquid from hairline all over the top of my head, about the same way I would apply minoxidil. I use minoxidil, spironolactone and Folligen in the morning. That plus Nizoral and Nano shampoos and finasteride is allowing me to keep my hair.

I've tried the cream, and my hair is thick enough on my crown and vertex that I just get too much of it on my hair and not my scalp.

But keep in mind that I'm 50, started treating for hair loss at 48, and have a much slower hairloss than younger people here who are losing their hair faster. I believe that means while I have little chance for significant regrowth, I have an excellent chance of keeping what I have for pretty much as long as I want to.

My hair looks much healthier than before I started treating it. The hair along my hairlline looks about the same as the hair along the sides and back of my head. Even my mother, whom I see only every few months because my folks live in a different state, noticed it after I had been treating for a while, she asked me what I was doing.

I cant believe people at 50 are spending 100s of dollars for something like hair. I hope I wont be too concerned about my hair at 50. Coz I wont have any..

I still have my hair, and I want to keep it. Why does age matter?

It's amazing how some people have misconceptions about age. I can do 50 pushups anytime I want to. I run, not more than about two miles daily, but enough to keep in decent shape. My hair is the same color it was in college. Why shouldn't I want to keep my hair?

Last summer I saw a news report about a guy who went water skiing on his 80th birthday.

Damn straight!

Hell, i'm not surprised your hair loss started so late, if you can do 50 pushups at 50! I'm inspired...

My hair loss started much earlier, probably in my 20's, but I have always had my hair pretty long, so it was hidden, even from me. I didn't give it any thought, really. But it has been slow all along, which is why I'm a good candidate for keeping what I have, even though most of what I have lost happened too long ago to be recovered. I would actually be a good candidate for a hair transplant to replace what I've lost, but it seems like too much of a bother.
