My loss has got to the point where I'm obsessing over it, so I would really like to clarify a few things with my dome.

I've had thinning all over my head seemingly, which makes me believe I could have some stress related loss as it's all over my sides.

I've also had typical pattern loss as my temples and hairline has receded quite a bit over the last year (it was all filled in to the point where I didn't even notice it about 12~ months ago. my frontal loss looks like I have miniaturization involved too which is new.

any advice or clarification is greatly appreciated. thankya. IMAG0903_1.jpgIMAG0872_1.jpgIMAG0878_1.jpg

edit: added this last photo in to hopefully show that I do indeed have loss, hopefully this can help guide some peoples opinions on whether its typical male pattern baldness or something else. I really do have A LOT of loss in the front, which i tried to make apparent in the wet pictures; before I could never see my scalp. The dry pictures don't do much as my hair is grown out to mask my hair loss, but it's good to know that it's working haha.

I do see some recession in the last pic. The other pics look normal since your hair appears to be wet. With that being said if you truly are losing hair all over your head then I would seek the advice of a dermatologist.

thanks for the response. I shouldve mentioned that I couldn't ever see my scalp before a year ago while I had hair this long. Now I can see about half of my skin, which i tried to make apparent with the wet pictures. I actually had temples and no recession aswell. my temple hair looks like it has been erased. (see the strands in the last picture? imagine that but with a full thickness- that's how much i've lost.)
I'm also supporting myself as a 20 y.o. student so seeing a derm is out of the question unfortunately.

Do yourself a big favor, skip out on a purchase here and there to save up 100 or so bucks, if insurance doesn't cover you, and go see a dermatologist. There's nothing worse than NOT knowing. Constantly checking your hairline in the mirror, feeling the hair on the top of your head versus the back of your head to compare thickness, sitting up nights worrying, etc. None of that crap helps at all. Trust me, I went through that phase for months before I saved up some money and saw a dermatologist. I know $ is tight, I'm a student myself. My derm visit was only $80 + $17 for my generic finasteride prescription. Every 3 months I buy a new 3 months supply of generic 5% minoxidil from Target for $30, and one bottle of Nizoral shampoo is about $15, but it lasts for a LONG time. In the grand scheme of things, it's dirt cheap. Even Bosley and Hairclub do free consults if there's one in your area. They can tell you if you're balding or not, but the consultants they have aren't MDs so they can't write scripts, but they can at least tell you what you're looking at hair loss wise. Chances are, if you're worried, there's something to be worried about, so go seek help from a professional.

I set up a consultation with a hair place nearby, i appreciate that advice.

I actually went to a derm a while back and she just trivialized my situation, didn't give me any real advice, and said that I'm going to have to live with male pattern baldness. she then told me if I really wanted to she would write me a script for propecia, but not for the generic that I asked for... What the **** is that?
really swayed me away from seeking this "professional" help, I can get the same treatment for free and I'd rather rely on my research and the help of others that I can get without paying into something that puts me in no better of a situation.

Dermatologists technically aren't supposed to treat prostate problems. So many of the reputable ones don't like prescribing generic proscar. This is bull ****
since it is the same medication. Mercks only argument is the stuff isn't sipposed
to be cut for it's potential dangers
to women. Which is smart marketing bull**** on their part. They needed to come
up with a tactic to prevent men from buying the cheaper version of the drug and cutting it. The solution? Women shouldn't handle crushed pills. Like I'm going to buy into that ****ing lie.

One solution is to see your general practitioner and have them prescribe you finasteride. They should be able to look up the medication and be told what it's about and be able to prescribe it. What we know is supposedly safe. But there's still a lot we don't know and that it may cause complications to your erections.

I see no male pattern baldness in your photos. The texture of your hair can change as you get older. that might be what has happened to you. Just keep a watchful eye.
