I'm 17 years old (closer to 18) and i've had a large widows peak since I can remember (i've added a picture from when I was roughly 12 to show)

I don't really know why i've had it all this time and i'm recently accepting (or at least trying to)that i'm balding. I considered buying 'Regaine' due to not having a large amount of cash to throw around on tablets etc but I don't know how much this will help me.

I would probably say i'm around Norwood 3? The crown thinning looks a lot worse on camera than it is, it's not very noticeable usually (I never really noticed it until that picture)

Guess what I really want to know as well is, how long do I have left? My uncles had a hairline similar to mines for that past 15+ years, although an uncle on the other side of the family is completely bald. I've just been struggling trying to accept that I may not make it to 20 before shaving it all off or at least I'll never have hair anywhere near by 30's

My two cents would be to approach a hair doctor right away. You are definitely losing a significant amount of hair, but you need to get help quick because the progression varies for each person.Have you tried getting some tests done? Rogaine or Propecia can be effective but there are side effects that you need to be considered and discussed with an expert.

Sorry to tell you but it does look like male pattern baldness and considering your age it does look like it's aggressive. You should get and appointment with a dermatologist he/she might prescribe you with propecia, there are side effect but the chances of getting them is low.

I think i'll be booking a GP appointment, only problem is the NHS doesn't cover any hair loss treatment sadly.

Would 'Regaine' be of any use to me now? or should I open my pockets and go for the most expensive option here?
