Hi there guys.

Well! I will try to keep this brief, i am in early 20's, started receding when i was about 18.
Am currently sitting on about a Norwood 2.5 with very slight thinning in crown.

I started finasteride and standard minoxidil with retin a about a year ago. Silly mistake without nizoral. I was uniformed and continued to recede at a good rate.

About 5 months ago i added nizoral and xandrox 15+ , adding spironolactone and copper peptides along the way. Its fair to say i have maintained since then. Hair on top is same thickness as sides and back, same very slight thinning on crown but the temples are just not changing.

I really want to grow back even a touch, just get back to a Norwood 1.5-2 and maintain from there and i will be estatic.

I still have plenty of peach fuzz etc. but i am realistic about the whole thing i know it is hard to grow back the hairline but i have read countless success stories and have heard plenty of times "my temples filled in nicely" (these people were obviously good responders with the big 3)

So i was hoping an expert could critique my regime.

I just swapped over afew days ago to spectral; xandrox15 was good but was just maintaining and i sincerely found my skin was getting worse, lines etc. I hear high minoxidil % inhibits collagen and also the high alcohol % also dries out skin..

My questions are in regard of my order of topical application and whether things like hair signals/spironolactone affect spectral absorbtion.

Also is it worth giving needling a shot or handheld laser?
Or retin a 0.05 cream/ hydrocortisone?

Pretty much i want the best chance to change these vellus hairs terminal and fill in my temples a bit with cosmetically noticeable hair. Without the use of Dutas or pricey topicals like RU,

Thanks Felas

Okay I am newbie here and I am also fighting with temples hair loss, I mean I have so called mature hairline. I want to ask you why is nizorelle shampoo so important I mean it just helps you to prevent dandruff or am I wrong? I started with Rogain Foam 5%, Green tea extract and after I recieve spironolactone 5% cream (I hope I will recieve it soon) I will quite with green tea...and yea I am thinking to add to my regimen saw palmetto (225mg) (I am a little bit scary to do this)

Okey so why is nizoral so important?

Best !

I was using minoxidil with retin-a (suppose to increase absorbtion) but can also inflame scalp. e.g The retin-a irritated my scalp and increased dandruff, ultimately leaving my scalp in an unhelathy state to grow new hair. Nizoral calms the scalp of inflamation, a contributing factor to hairloss. It also contains ketoconazole which can suppress DHT and increase hair count.

It can be quite drying so you are only ment to use 2-3 times a weak.

I can suggest Revita as a good shampoo alternative which also contains 1% keto.

All the best mate

( I should probably change this page to my story.)

Little update- Wish i had started this regime im on a year ago, hair is thick as it's ever been on top, but aaahh i want my hairline back.

Think i may be on the regrowth train because i have a heap of vellus hair that i can litterally tug on lightly, about half an inch long.

Afew hairs that are inbetween vellus and terminal (hint of colour)

and recently a few dark terminal hairs sprouting that definately werent there before

- It annoys me because im maintaining well but im just a tad past a mature hairline. i.e Have to style my hair to hide the receding, think i may very well be heading back to a NW2 though so fingers crossed, will keep you informed.

Also just to add, not sure how many people can relate to me, but i hear SOO much about shedding and i just realised i never notice shedding really at all. Good thing or bad thing? How do you lose hair if not shedding, miniaturization? is that another form of hair loss, sorry for sounding semi noobish on that question but never hear anything from non shedders

retinA is important for a regrowth routine, especially for temple regrowth.
Not only it increase minoxidil abs but long term use decrease significantly DHT receptors, increase vascularisation, decrease scalp sclerosis and makes your skin reorganize thus fighting the mechanical aspect of miniaturization.

You have to use it everynight, a SMALL amount where you want regrowth , you wont notice any dandruff or irritation. 15 min before minoxidil application.

Much weaker. Retin-a has been shown to help with male pattern baldness. Retinol has not. Might be a good idea to buy a tube and apply it seperately. Good luck.

hmmm so you think i should add retin A even though spectral has retinol, how much does it really help?

Iv got some of old Dr lees 0.025 lying around could start that back up again.

Or do you think a higher strength 0.05 cream would be better?

Also ive read on different posts that alot of users apply the retin a about 20 mins after minoxidil and some apply it before to aid absorbtion, i really dont know.

Whens the correct time to apply it?

Hey Defiance,

Ok so this might sound way random so do your research on these statements and come to your own conclusion -

But apparently emu oil is very effective in bringing life to hair around the temple area, something that finasteride and minoxidil. aren't too successful at.

I've been using it for just under a month and am starting to notice light little strands growing.

Copper Peptides (in my case I am using Folligen) is known for taking those thin stringy hairs and promoting thickness to them.

Hair loss is a difficult fight because its not just as simple as 'oh someone pulled the plug out of the bath, lets put it back in and turn the tap on again'. There are numerous factors, thats why science has barely got on top of it.
Every hair loss product has its own mechanism.
So again, minoxidil. and finasteride. are great at what they do but in there own respects. As far as dealing with temples is concerned, your approach should be a bit different.

Do some research on emu oil in conjunction with Folligen.
Everyones got their own opinion and bias, but from my own personal experience (over 1 month) I am noticing results.

Cheers,

Thanks mate but if you look under 'view my regimen' im already using hair signals + emu oil every second night. Been using for ummm i dunno 3-4 months.

I know i have read others saying it helps thicken up minoxidil induced thin hairs and 'peach fuzz'

Growing back temple hair is definately a hard task, it's amazing because the hair hasnt been gone too long

In my case i think i just need to try be more patient. Because with this regime im on now im not loosing any hairs, got a heap of peach fuzz and quite afew getting a hint of colour. i think it is just a very slow process of reversing hair loss and fingers crossed they keep thickening up

I would of loooved too of reacted to generic minoxidil like zeroheat but unfortunately i thick very few of us do in the temple region. Still with a hardcore regime it should be possible to 'fill in abit'
