Hello,

I'm 22 years old and have been experiencing some general thinning over the past 2-3 years and a recede in my hairline. I have used Nioxin and Vive Thickening. Went to the doctor and checked out Propecia but a bit expensive and side effects I didn't want to mess with. I was thinking of Rogaine 5% but don't want to be a shed story where my hair actually worsens or deal with flaking. What's a good recommended thickening shampoo and what would be a good regimen to get on for the hairline and overall thickness thats relatively safe?

Thanks

Seriously your best bet is finasteride ( propecia). You can buy either generic fincar or the real proscar which come in 5 mg pills and cut them into 1/4s or 5ths and save money that way. I got 30 fincars for 30 bucks and it will last about 4 months. Very few get side effects and if you are in the lucky majority that don't get sides then you may also benefit greatly from the drug.
Do you really want to loose your hair with out trying the number 1 treatment? You can quit if you get sides, but ride it out first to see if they fade.

minoxidil is also a viable option but it will not stop the thinning, only temporarily improve it. I have shed on it but I do see healthy hair still growing in so it couldn't have been that bad. No real flaking for me above my usual dandruff. Granted I am too early into each treatment to know for sure if it is working for me but I feel content that I am doing all that is in my power to fight it.

With hairloss either you go all out or you just waste money on unproven crap. You are going to loose it anyway so why not fight it as hard as you can and try to keep it a few more years

Umm, you wont last on rogaine. Try propecia, if your boobies start growing, take pics, send them to me, and then quit.
