Hey hairtalkers..iam 21 years old and ive recently taking my hairloss very seriously, it started 1 year ago, the guys in my family are all bald, i have a very thick and massive hair, but now is starting to shed in the crown area, i never thought that i loose hair becuase of the thick and large amount of hair but here iam, i would appreciate any advice of what i can do in order to keep and most importantly to gain more, ive been thinking about propecia since it has the best effect? and i was wondering how much a surgical procedure cost approx? if that would be a option in the future, thx

Hi,

sorry to hear that you are losing hair, too.

Propecia will most likely stop further hair loss, you can also get regrowth from Propecia alone, but your chances for regrowth are much better when you get on the Big 3 (Propecia, Regaine (Minoxidil) and Nizoral-Shampoo).

Don't get a hair transplant now. You might loose more hair even if you are on the big 3 and you'll run out of donor hair or money if your hair condition gets worse. If your hair loss has stabilized you can think of a surgical procedure. The cost varies greatly depending on your hair status and the doctor you choose.

In the early stages I recommend Finasteride (active ingredient of Propecia) only. It is easy to use and provides good regrowth at the crown for many. If you are one of them? Sry, you can only find out yourself!

Good Luck!
