Hey everybody. My name is Pat. I'm 25 and just started noticing that my hair line is slowly receding and it is freaking me out!

Wow I just felt like I was introducing myselfin an AA meeting there.

Anyway I heard about this site and thought I would stop in.

I'm open to trying ANYTHING that will work to stop the hair loss and get some back.

Should I see a doctor before taking any kind of pill or topical treatment? What kind of doctor do I go to...or will a regular MD be able to help?

I have heard to take a DHT blocker and a regrowth topical treatment to maximize the results. Any recommendations?

Also I heard that ur hair falls out FAST at first before it starts to grow back. Does this happen with everybody??? Wow I think that would freak me out even more if it started to fall out even faster before growing in.

Thanks for any help you guys can give. I'm very open to ideas and desperate for help!

hair loss

What you want to do is see a dermotologist. He will answer your questions. Chances are he will prescribe you Propecia (finasteride). He will probably tell you to get on Rogaine or Propecia, or both. I have been to a derm before and this is what he told me. Dermatologists usually go for the two FDA apporved treatments for hair loss which is Propecia or Rogaine.

Do you have pictures....

If you just started to lose your hair, Propecia may be your best bet.

Oh really...i never thought to see a dermotologist. Hmmm...

Sorry I dont have any pictures. My trouble area seems to be right up front. My hair line is receding in the front but not in the middle...it is recdeing on the sides up front...if that makes sense. A few months ago you couldn't see my scalp at all. NOW you can def see it.

As of now the back of my head seems okay. I havent noticed any thinning out back...only in the front
