new user needs your advice to decide !

hello hairloss members, this forum gave me so much information more than anywhere online and I thank you for it, I signed up to ask for your advice about my route, am 27 years old and I noticed my thin hair since I was 20 and from then till now its almost the same with slightly more reduction in my crown area, when I introduced to this forum before 3 years I tried some treatment routes such as rogain , mizoral , etc but all gave me side effects such as irritation and sexual issues, so I stopped them and turned to toppik concealer since my crown area is the most affected it did wonders to my hair and now everyone is saying I have really thick hair,my hair is generally soft and tall so with toppik hiding in my crown area nobody can tell even with clear light focused there, long story short am ok with where I am now but am thinking about my future, the last dr I visited and explained to him my story told me since your happy now just live with it like this until your hair fall really increase to a dramatic level think opt for hair transplant which wont give u side effects that I faced during my treatment period, so what do you think guys should I stay with concealer and when am really bald opt for a transplant?

Personally I would rather get on treatments (that I can stop anytime) than to have a transplant that costs thousands of dollars and leaves a big *** scar on the back of my head.

Powerguy, if you think you're losing your hair then I strongly suggest you start taking finasteride 1mg a day or dutasteride ASAP (I don't know much about dutasteride so ask someone else if you go that route.) I've been on finasteride for about 9 years. At first I was freaking out about sexual side effects and gynecomastia. I experimented with dosages smaller than the recommended amount. Eventually I just gave in and started taking 1mg finasteride a day and I haven't looked back since. (I get Proscar and break it up into quarters and take it 4 days on/one day off.) By the 9 month to 1 year mark all of my worries had resolved themselves. I experienced no side effects from the 1 year to 9 year mark. It sucks having to take medication but you need to assess all of the advantages and disadvantages of getting on it. In the end, I decided I'd rather have my hair then not have my hair.

guyz ive described my issues with meds before and I cant opt for them, nthing is more important than my wiener, I tried finasteride and after few days I was not able to complete one sexual intercourse so ya I will skip that, as I said for Norwood concealers are doing a great job with me I just need an advice about future plan lets say after 5 years? and no issue with money, might there will be scareless transplant in the future?

I tried finasteride-nizoral-minoxidil and all caused side effects, tried them separately also they really hard on me and I cnt afford it specially the sexual sides that can really ruin my life as am newly married @ my 27th years , I opt not to take any more hair loss meds so is there any other plan or as I mentioned stick with toppik until its more bald and then opt for transplant? might in the future will be easier scareless ways, and money isn't an issue

Powerguy, you didn't give those side effects a long enough time to go away. At the longest, they will go away within a few months.

yup but the sides are scary and a hair doesn't worth to have a low libido and other irritation, it was destroying me and the fact that I have to use the med as long as I want hair also wasn't for me.. what I want to ask is about hair transplant what are the possible sides? and I don't have to use meds 4ever if I need to retain the hair from hair transplant correct? it sounds a better option for me specially that I have thick hair in back and sides..
